Hi
I have a GDEC3-30 fender amp + Fender American De-Luxe Strat.
and I am delighted with both (had to wait 5months for the guitar to arrive, but well worth the wait!!).
I have downloaded the Blues/Country/Metal data packs onto seperate SD cards ready to use with the amp, no problems.
Question...............
Can I store all the data pack presets in a folder on my computer and be able to select any preset from that folder to use via the Fuse software, without having to keep changing the SD card in the GDEC ?.

By the way thanks, to fender for a great amp & software package.

Regards Matt (UK)

Hey Matt,

The G-DEC 3 Special Edition packs were created for the purpose of transforming your original G-DEC 3 into a genre specific version. You're pretty much supposed to flash to either a blues, metal, or country version and leave it, as opposed to flashing to a new genre frequently. Every time you flash the amp to a specific version you are essentially reinstalling the operating system and rewriting the flash memory.

Individual presets and Band Tracks are not available to extract from the Special Edition packs. However, the individual Presets and Band Tracks are available for download on the Fender FUSE Community site.

I recommend that you download the presets you like from all three packs and store them in FUSE. Do the same for the corresponding Band Tracks and save them to an SD card. That way, you can simply load any preset using FUSE.

Wish there were some way to preview the presets on the website BEFORE I download them. Can't tell if I like them or not if I can't hear them first!!! Are you listening, Fender???

We're listening. In the meantime, you can preview the preset without the need to copy it to a preset slot on the amp by double-clicking it in the Media Library.

I have a slightly different question but it's along the same lines so thought I'd ask here instead of creating a new thread.

I don't want to switch to a Blues or Country version, rather I want to sort of combine them all to create my own personalized version. However, I don;t know out how to get the presets and band tracks loaded together. In other words, if I select a band track in my original G-DEC a "matching" preset is automatically selected, which is one of my favorite features of the amp. How do I achieve this for one of the blues or country band tracks I downloaded? How do I even figure out what the matching preset is? And once I do that, how do I get it to load along with the band track like the original tracks in my G-DEC?

Hi, maybe it could help....
Quoting a past post:

Ok,I found a way to get the most of all four G-Dec3 presets and bandtracks styles while not loosing any personnal presets and bandtracks I've wrote on the amp HD since I bought it.

1. Using Fuse, I made a total backup (presets and bandtracks) of my original G- Dec3.
2. I've configured, as explained on Fender site, my G-Dec3 to the Blues version (very easy to do so).
3. I made a second total backup so I can find the Blues presets and bandtracks in Fuse directory.
4. I did the same with the Metal and Country G-Dec3 styles.
5. I reconfigured the amp as it was (original presets and bandtracks.
6. I copied and pasted all (original,Blues,Metal and Country ) presets and bandtracks from my computer to an SD card so that I can now have access to everything.
Hope it helps.

I'm not with Fender, but I *think* that the preset and band track selections that can be downloaded in the single genre packages (Blues, Rock, or Country) are designed as an "all or nothing" download. They're meant to be used to transform a basic GDEC3 amp into one of those three genre-dedicated models. The factory, "little bit of everything" presets and band tracks that the amp comes with are replaced by the downloaded version. I've read posts on here by some people who were disappointed with the downloaded versions, saying that there are a lot of repetitions of the same presets, etc. I play a wide variety of music -- except for hard rock, metal, jazz, or classical -- and I like the variety of the original setup, so I'm not planning to do that myself. You can download individual presets and band tracks, though, but I wasn't aware of any way to preview them before downloading until Loren told me how to do it.

Okay, now that led to another question. Is it possible to delete some of the presets and band tracks from my basic GDEC3 amp? I was thinking of doing that and replacing the ones I don't care for with individual downloads that I do like. My ultimate goal is to rid the amp of things I don't like, but maintain a variety of the genres on it that I do want to play, without resorting to the "all or nothing" genre downloads.

This is essentially what I was asking about as well, I just want to delete/replace presets and band tracks so I can dial them up together in the same way I can with the factory loaded presets and tracks.

 Yes it's possible, my preset 04 is called Pink Floyd Run (just make a search on Fuse for this preset and a link to it's backing track) and the band track is a backing track of that song...I proceed this way just for a dozen of songs I often play but I prefer to put all my backing tracks and presets on SD cards so I always can import/export them SD-<>G-Dec3HD and/or use the quick access function to use the three chosen presets with the ULT-4 footswitch.

Hi RunDuke,

What procedure did you use to copy and paste all four of the 4 GDEC presets and bandtracks to an SD card? The presets all have the same name (00-99) on the 4 GDEC sets. I have backed up my amp to the computer with all 4 versions.
I know they have to be copied to an SD card, but I am unsure as to how the card has to be configured to keep the 4 versions separate since they all have the same name. Thanks!
