I need some help.

Can someone with Pedal knowlede please help me.. All I am looking for is the smoothest solo Sound I can find.. Not scratchy and dirty but.... Steve Vai Like... ...
I have two guitars :
Gibson LP Traditional Standard ( 57 HB's )

PRS SE Custom Semi Hollow... PRS HB's

G Dec 3 Thirty Amp( nice, but don't expect smooth soaring highs and lows.. )

Zoom G2 1NU

I am looking at buying the Blackstar HT5 combo Tube Amp that has an effects loop hook up option. ( Unless you can help me get this from the G Dec ) I am willing to buy a few pedals . ( I will be going to the guitar store to hook up my Zoom Pedal up to the Blackstar and see if I can get the sound I want ). This is for practice and playing in the house, so I can't get the large Tube Amps that have to be driven loud.

Can anyone recommend a simple Pedal set up that may get me to that thick fat Neck sound but smooth as possible for SOLO'S ? But Sustaining soaring Solos . Even if you don't know if it will sound right on this particular amp, can someone give me tips on Pedals that get me closer to that sound ?

I appreciate any help

Thanks

Try this Steve Vai preset for your GDEC:

https://fuse.fender.com/preset.php/vai_legacy

Apparently Steve put it together himself.

Remember to turn it up LOUD ;-)

I forgot I downloaded that before. That sounds very Nice ! That is the style sort of Sound I am after. I am not sure if it is possible to push that signal on the Gdec somehow to have that same clean smooth sound ..
Thanks for the suggestion !

The Sound is good. Does anyone have ideas how to take this sound and drive it further without sounding dirty and scratchy ?

We are limited in Fuse to what stomps and effects to insert , placement as well as the amount in the chain.

My Zoom G2.1NU works well with it, but I have to use a clean channel , so I can't seem to push the " Fender Vai Patch " on with it without it sounding really wild and messy( at least I have not been able to so far with the presets ) Any thoughts ?

Vai actually has a bunch of Patches on the Zoom, and only one I can get close to the " for the love of god" sound.

I will mess around with it, but just wondering if there is anyone trying to get this cleaner smoother tone out of their G Dec ?

Thanks !

Put a compression pedal in the mix and you will hear some nice changes. Great sustain too.
