Hi, I now own a G-DEC 3 thirteen :) It's nice and fun but some things are not working as I expected or maybe I'm to silly...
When I phrase the level is very low. Following are the used parameters:
- Guitar tone set to 10
- Band Level set to 10
- Volume set to 3
- Phrase level set to 10
The connected guitar is an Ibanez Artcore AK80.

How can I increase the input level/ sensitivity while recording the phrase?
And...
Is it normal that the recorded quality is like playing into a bucket? Phrase quality is set to high and I'm using Acoustic Jumbo setting which sounds fine while I'm playing.

Hope that I'm too silly and someone is able to help.

I had / have the same issue with both a Yamaha and a Epiphone Joe Pass. I gave up with it in the end ( not the amp...I still use that)

.....and I think you probably mean the Fifteen..... :)

Thanks Gary,
that's strange, thought it is designed for recording. There should be a solution.

At least I'm not the only one with the issue and it's not my guitar. It's 2 weeks old and I tried it with an amp first time...

P.s.: I'm German and meant Thirty

Played around a bit more now and found the following.
Having presets with overdrive etc. give much more output power and given that a better phrase recording. But this does not help because I want clean acoustic guitar sound as the Artcore sounds itself.

So I tried to record with the USB interface to my Mac. Acoustic Jumbo setting gives nearly no input. As soon I add an effect I get a maximum of approx. 30% input level. There is no way to adjust the input level with audio setting sensitivity sliders, because they are looked. In a Mustang forum Loren from Fender wrote that the input shall be amplified. But think that's not what I want. If only the last bit's of the 16 bit samples are used to record amplifying will raise the noise floor together with the guitar signal.

Does someone know how it is possible to amplify a clean guitar sound?
and
How do I get a sufficient input level? Is that a Mac issue only or known with Windows as well?

Main reason for me to buy the amp was digital recording feature. If it's not working, think 'll give it back to the dealer...

Hi Guys,

You may want to turn up the amp's channel volume. Also, you may want to check the Timbre settings in the Amp Menu. This adjustment does effect tone, but may be desirable and some settings will boost apparent level, particularly the "Super Bright".

The effects are another area where you can work on levels. Check the gain on any effects that are running. And keep in mind that some guitars do have a hotter output than others.
Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,
