Hi! I'm thinking of getting one of these two models to use exclusively for drum tracks, jam along and CD/MP3 input. I'm partial to the Blues model as it has the same cosmetics as my Supersonic amp. I play mostly blues and classic rock so the drum beats would be important. My questions are: Do I give up any features going with the GDEC Blues over the standard GDEC model? Also can someone tell me if there are drum only tracks to play along without other instruments? Last, I have a drum track copied onto an SD card and can this be imported into the GDEC? Thanks!

All features on all G-DEC 3s are identical. There's a link somewhere on Fender's site to download midi drum tracks that work on the G-DEC 3s. You can use your drum track as long as it's in .wav or .mp3 format!

Hi stratrocs:

You can buy the G-Dec of your choice and download the update/setup files for each of the 4 models. Just follow the setup instructions for whichever model you want (Blues, Metal, Country, or Original) and you have it. You can change this as often as you want too! The files are available here!

Hi stratrocs,

It sounds like you are all set with your Fender G-DEC 3 Blues Special Edition & ULT-4 pedal. In case you wanted the MIDI files from the older Fender G-DEC series, you can find that file here: http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... midi-files

Please let us know if we can assist.

Best Regards,

I started with the G-DEC 3 and switched it to the Blues version. I really love the blues box its more my style than anything else. I do like being able to switch it back to the original settings and presets that I had saved. I got all the old midi files from the original G-DEC series and a lot of the new drum patterns for the country and blues editions and use them for original tracks.

I wish a few of the effects were a little stronger. The auto wah is useless - you have to pick really really hard before you see the effect. The flange isn't deep enough either. The amp models are more than acceptable though. I have a hot rod deluxe I use when I play out and the model is very close for solid state. It doesn't have quite as much oomph as the tube amp but its a really really good practice amp.

Its like having a band with you every time you sit down to play. Its really improving my playing mainly because it makes practice fun.
