Does anyone have, or know where I can get an idiots guide showing me how to record my Guitar into the Fender edition Ableton lite? I have seen plenty of questions on setting it up but does anyone have a really simple guide on recording and saving what I am playing?

I'd like that too! Can the G-DEC be used as the input source too?

I believe it can. It has been a while since I tried it but I notice that there is some nice tutorials here :-

I will give this ago later and let you know......it looks pretty idiot proof........but the proof of the pudding is in the eating. :)

Be aware that the tutorials help some but the manual is not a great deal of help as it basically jumps into things and assumes you already know a lot. First important thing is that it is important which order you turn things on. You have to have Ableton opened up before turning on the amp or nothing works. Then you need to reset your input and output preferences every time you open the software before you can hear anything (or stop the incredibly quick feedback loop). It is not enough to have your preferences set up, they have to be clicked on and highlighted in order to work. Half the presets don't work on the Lite version so that can get frustrating. Once you can pluck a string and hear an output and see the meters bouncing you are ahead of the game. The rest you just keep reading the manual and smacking the side of your head because it sounds easy but IT JUST ISN'T WORKING!!! Last thing, save your sessions but if you want to turn them into wav or MP3 files you can listen to or use as a backing track, you have to export the file and save it. No where does the manual just tell you that. Good luck. It is fun once you get the hang of it.

OK. I had a quick go at it following the link but.....I was swapping between watching the video and using the software and had to keep pulling my lead so that I could hear either......

I have managed to record the guitar but is sounds soooooo bad it is not really usable. it sounds really muffled and far away.... I will keep playing and see what happens !

I have decided to forgo using ableton. After all, I have 24 tracks of digital available on the Roland VS-2000 and 8 tracks (soon to be 16) of analog ADAT at my disposal. Plus enough outboard gear added to that.
