I am about to turn 60 and would categorize myself as an early stage intermediate player. Make that later stage beginner. I am taking lessons which I should have done 50 years ago. One of the reasons I bought this amp is to play along the songs I am learning. My teacher is having me figure out chords for various songs which requires me to stop the song to get the chord right. Unfortunately, this amp does not have a pause button when playing tracks. I have to keep restarting the song. Can Fender add a pause feature to this amp with a firmware upgrade? As for the other many features, I am still learning how to use them.

Yes that would be great to be able to pause, but I'm not sure that it's possible with a firmware upgrade (hope I'm wrong)... in fact since the vast majority of G-Dec3 owners are not computer freaks, I think that it would be very appreciated by all of us if Fender (Alan, Loren or Brad) would inform us about what could or couldn't be done with firmware upgrades to improve these amps sofware possibilities.

You can record band tracks to the phrase sampler so one option is to sample the part of the song you are working on and then loop the sampler?

I think a firmware update to make the start/stop button do pause should be possible, but it would need to an option that was enable/disable as some people would like it the way it is (start from the beginning each time).

Does Alan, Loren or Brad read comments or suggestions in this forum. That would be great if we can suggest this feature and hear if it is possible to add in a firmware update. In an ideal world, it would be nice to go back and just replay a section. When my guitar teacher is working with me on hearing a chord in a song and trying to "get it" he uses an android Viewsonic tablet and plays the song. He then pauses and moves back a bit to replay the chord over and over until I figure it out. Since this amp is promoted as a great practice amp, I would think others would appeciate this feature. BTW, Alan called me to respond to an email I sent requesting setup help. He was very helpful and informative. Great staff Fender!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your inquiry and suggestion. I will make sure it gets passed to our hardware guys. I cannot make any type of comment or commitment as to whether or not it may get done. But I will pass it along. Thanks very much.

Best Regards,

Thanks Alan, you will pass it along and I hope that you'll post about that matter on this forum as soon as you'll receive feedback from them...I'm using the old G-Dec 30 and the 3 with no problem except some limitations (acoustic presets for exemple) but since this last one is software dependant, upgrades are always welcome.
