I am thinking of buying this amp with the blues track. Here is my question I am just learning to play and thought this would be a good amp with its ability to have background tracks. I figure another tool for learning. What are your guys or girls thoughts on this?

I've been playing 35+ years, and I can tell you if I'd had one of these amps (back in the day) when I started out... well I shudder to think how much better I'd be. One of the best practice/learning tools out there IMHO. :D

Yea, I just turned 50. Started playing when I was about 12 or 13.

I have the original G-Dec 30 (2009) and I'm currently waiting for one of the new country versions to arrive, the G-Dec3's are cooler than the original one. 8)

The good & bad. You can look through the forum for other's opinion's, as for me I guess not being able to assign a different QA1,2&3 to each preset and not having a count in on the phrase sampler are about my only complaints, (and these could potentially be fixed in software upgrades) other than that it's all good for me! :D

I definitely recommend these to my guitar lesson students. :)

I am thinking of getting the Blues and at the in Feb, B-Day gift to myself. I am going to get the Blues model. Fender should make all pre-sets available country blues or rock. I am sure it’s just software download.
Thank you for responding.

Ask questions.
You know... I think the best teachers are the one's that feel they're still learning new things themselves, and are as excited about you learning to play as you are. I know I get excited when I see that "little light bulb" start to go on with various things I'm teaching my students.

It should be fun for the teacher and the student... I think both end up learning more. :D

Good Luck,

Greg

OK after calling GC and another local guitar dealer they could not answer my question. Simple question was if I order the Blues amp will I be able to download the rock tracks. GC gave me the number for Fender directly and this is what they had to say.
Once you purchase the amp you can than set up an acct with Fender fuse. After you have an account set up you will have access to all the background tracks. The more I read and call about this amp the better it is sounding.

http://www.guitarbackingtrack.com

This site has free backing tracks for many popular songs, in addition to the downloadable backing tracks from Fender FUSE. Another site to try is

www.midi-tab.com

Have fun!
