The installation works perfectly and I am really happy with the Blues FSR presets and bandtracks.
Thank You Fender. Well Done!

I also would like to load the blues edition to my Gdec but do not have a SD card reader on my older computer.

Can anyone describe the steps to download the blues presets/tracks from the computer to the amp without the SD card reader?

thanks
Gerry

Gerry,

Hook your amp to your computer with the usb cable. Go into the utility menu (hold the exit button down until it goes there). Use the left or right menu buttons to get to the USB DRIVE selection, then press either of the two middle buttons under the LCD. You can now open a folder on your computer that contains everything on the SD card. You can then unzip the files from the FSR zip file to the root of the SD card (e.g. the folder that contains the Wave/Midi/and preset folders). When you are done, unmount the USB device from your pc and press the "exit" key on the front of the amp. Then proceed with the instructions.

Dave

So does adding the new version delete whatever was on your drive previously or is it in addition to that?

Installing the special edition content overwrites anything in amp memory.

Next question would then be if I don't want to lose what I have already done (background loops, personalized settings), should I save that to my SD card or to a file on my computer or should I save the update to the SD card?

In fuse under the Utility tab, you can create a backup of your whole setup as it is now. Then you can switch over to the Blues or Country version, save a backup of that one and you should be able to switch over anytime. You can also select just one preset or the batch to backup.

Is it possible to load Blues to one SD card, Original to another SD, Counry to another etc and then just switch between SD cards to enable that genre? Also is it possible to select individual tracks and presets from each of the genres and load them individually to another SD card?

That is correct.

Yes and Yes. Technically you could load them all to just one SD card. However, that would make the update process kind of cumbersome. It takes about ten minutes to install the media files for any of the genres. It's not as quick and simple as the process to get Band Tracks off of an SD card.

Maybe you can download a trial version of WinZip or another zip utility.
