I have a G-Dec 3 thirty and the Ableton Live Lite 8 Fender edition software is installed on my computer and is working fine with the guitar. However when I try to play a band track I get nothing at all, either out of the amp or in Ableton. My amp is connected by USB and both the internal speaker and line out are set to "All".

Hi jhardister,

It sounds like you are trying to run Fender FUSE and Ableton Live Lite Fender Edition at the same time. What is most likely happening is that the two applications are both trying to grab the amp as it's own device.

Please try running the applications one at a time. Since Live Lite needs to use the device in a different way than Fender FUSE, this is likely the causet of the issue you are describing.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. And Happy New Year.

Best Regards,

Hi Alan,
Thanks for the quick response. No I am not running Fuse at the same time. It seems to have something to do with the hardware setup in Ableton. I am set with the Fender Universal ASIO Live 8.2.1 driver. When I go into hardware setup if I select my pc's audio card or no selection at all the band track will play but I get no signal in Ableton, not even from my guitar. If I select DEC audio I then get a signal from my guitar and can record but I cannot play a band track.
Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

By the way, I am running Windows 7 64 bit if that makes a difference.

I have noticed same kind of symptoms.
If you have Ableton on and USB cable connected to G-DEC, bands inside G-DEC don´t play. If you want to record with G-DEC bands, you must move band track (waw file) to computer as track to Ableton and then play it there; then it works...

What Alan is saying is still true. If the amp is being used by Ableton or another app that needs the USB Audio aspect of the amp, you won't be able to play any band tracks until you quit the app and it relinquishes control of the amp.

Hi Loren,
Thanks for the reply. I guess I still do not understand. My band tracks are on the amps hard disk and play through the amp so the USB is not involved at all. So why does running Ableton make any difference even if it is using the USB connection?

jhardister.

When you refer to "band track" are you refering to the .wav files preloaded in the the G-Dec amp or are you referering to the ones that come the Ableton (loops, grooves-bricks etc...) which are not at all related to the g-dec backing tracks (...I think).

I was having the the problem last night of having a groove run in track 1 of ableton but not being able to hear it (the meter was showing it was going but i had no sound.) I was able to get the tone test through my computer speakers no problem but I couldn't get the preinstalled Ableton rythym loops to come through. Ran out of time though...

I am running XP on a IBM p4 2.6 Ghz duo core.

Cheers,

Dave
