So I just got the amp for Christmas. I'm yet to get really excited for it because I'm still pretty confused on how to use it overall (It's also my first ever proper amp (I previously used computer software acting as an amp)) but I hope one I begin to learn how to use it I shall get more excited by the prospects it brings.

My favourite band is Biffy Clyro as you may beable to see from the username and because I am fairly new to Guitar/Music overall my main aim is to beable to actually practice getting the sounds Biffy Clyro use for all their songs onto my GDec 330. Is this possible, as at the moment I have been playing some of their riffs/songs through the amp on various preset tones and only once was I even vaguely interested in the replication of sound I got. How can I go about replicating any sound I want from this amp?

Also, I notice the presets run from 0-99, most, if not all of these I want to beable to delete so I can start a fresh on making my own. How do I:

A. Delete them all.
B. Start from scratch with a new preset.

Finally, and this may not actually be really related to the GDec itself but it's a question I've been wanting to ask someone: When I play some of my favourite guitar riffs on guitar they often don't sound that good and it's not down to my playing as they are being played correctly by me so this is what is worrying me: If I come up with my own riffs, when playing them with or without my amp how am I really going to determine whether it's any good because often when I make up riffs how am I going to know if it's actually any good? Because obviously listening to the recorded version it's had loads of effects, producer effects etc. things done to it so will sound completely different to how it started, so how do bands actually come up with their songs if this is the case?

Hi, hope you enjoy this new "toy" and imho...I suggest that you read the manual that came with the amps as well as downloading those on Fender site and that you upgrade to the last amp firmware and Fuse software...you can find a lot by reading posts on this forum. As sound is concerned: If you're using the amp alone never forget that it's a practice amp and if you want to improve the sound quality try to use the line out jacks to drive the signal to a mono or stereo PA system( I don't understand why they didn't put a speaker out jack on this one :( )...that's what I do and the sound produced using my Strat, MG500, and acoustic Takamine guitars and (both the HD and SD card backing tracks) are much better. You can get a lot guitar sounds with this amp and the guitar you're using will also make a difference.
Keep rocking.

Another reply to the sound part:
I'm a complete amateur and newbie, and I've played a few things either my own or someone else's, and with an appropriate preset, I've been quite pleased with some of the things I've played.

So, I have a hard time understanding the "how will I or anyone else know if a riff is good unless it has first been put through a studio and a genius of a producer?" (sorry about the made-up quote :) ), because you should definitely have something that sounds good through that amp that will make you and other people go "yes, this is good stuff!".

Unless you are talking about really really extreme avantgarde full-of-effects-and-crazy-sounds-and-no-rythm-kind of music, then obviously the music IS the effects and you need your floor filled with pedals.
But in all other cases, I don't know how something wouldn't sound good if the riff is great and it is played well with the amp set to at least a remotely appropriate setting. Would you care to share a sample of your playing? :)

IMHO Sometime "less is more" and most comes from the fingers...once I've heard great guitar playing coming from a Roland Micro Cube!
The only external pedal I'm using with the D-Dec3 is a CryBaby and a Bad Monkey.

Yes, my humble opinion might be the same as yours, it's just that I prefer not to argue against someone else's taste in music and sound. :)
I was merely giving an example where the claim made by OP actually makes sense to my ears.
