When will Fender release a new firmware for out G-DEC 3?

It's been about five months since the last update. I think a new update is due soon, no?

How often will Fender release new updates? I know it depends on their developement cycle, but I'd like to know what that cycle is. I think potential buyers will be reassured to know that Fender is actively listening (which they are doing a good job of) and using the feedback to improve G-DEC 3 constantly.

Has it really been five months? I had version 1.03 when I bought mine in late June, and I think it was at least a month later before 1.04 came out. Anyway, time shouldn't really dictate when new firmware comes out. It should happen when improvements have been added, tested and are functioning correctly.

Just my 2 cents worth!

:)

I agree that in an ideal world companies would release updated firmware "when improvements have been added, tested and are functioning correctly." However, in my experience, companies use that as an excuse to dragging their feet and eventually dropping support altogether as time goes on.

I just hope Fender will continually fix and update the firmware for the G-DEC 3 series. I really love mine.

I guess you can say that there's always G-DEC 4 to look forward to.

From my experience talking with Loren, Alan and others here, they will support the G-DEC 3s until new units are released, which shouldn't be too soon, given the popularity of these units and the Mustangs.

The ability to make firmware updates should not automaticly lead to the assumption that you can expect regular enhancements, imo.

But, since there are fundamental functions missing, after all this time since releasing this amp, they should have bring them in already.

For most of the functions I'm talking about, take a look in this thread:

I have a GDEC3 15, but I can see they have already improved on the GDEC3 in ways that no firmware update could do.... its called the Mustang I and II.

The Mustang amps solves the biggest issue I have with the GDEC3. No knobs for adjusting of EQ and levels really slows you down when adjusting the GDEC3 and doesnt let you "play with your tone" as much as traditional amps. Plus the Mustang is much easier to swap in and out effects.

EDIT: I should add that, despite what I say above, my GDEC3 has been an amazing purchase and has opened my eyes (ears?) to so many other tones.
