There sure seems to be a lot of kvetching about the G-Dec here. About the "parameters", the "presets", the "tones". I think the G-Dec is the best piece of equipment I've bought in 10 years because it's made me a better guitar player! Because it is not a "practice amp", it is a TEACHING AMP! (By the way, the Fender marketing department is missing the boat on this, too!) But seriously, if you're so worried about your tone, then plug your PRS into your Dumble and have a tone party. If you want get a good guitar lesson in your own house without paying a teacher, then plug in your G-Dec and learn. Now I'm an old geezer and would probably play Chicago Shuffle or Stray Cat all day long, and if you're a 16-year old metalhead you'll probably play Speed Demon all day long, but try this instead. Get a five minute egg timer, pick a track that you're comfortable playing with and play for 5 minutes in each and every key (you heard me...every key!). Now find a track that you might never play. For me that might be Latin Lover, for the 16-year old it might be Trainbilly. Again, 5 minutes in every key. Figure it out, try things, get frustrated, have fun. I keep a chart and try play every rhythm in every key at least once a month (By the way again, Fender should have something like this in the owners manual, "The G-Dec Method for Teaching and Learning Guitar". Anybody at Fender listening? Hellooooo?) So don't worry so much about all this technical stuff... which preset, or which model, or which reverb to use. Spin the dial, change keys and BPMs and...LEARN.

Thank you zenblues and welcome.

This picker did purchase a G-Dec 3 30 and after about 6 hours playing and the next day, sniffing sincerely at the Line 6 Spider Jam...

...the G Dec 3 30 was returned and the Spider Jam came home and is in this opinion, much more capable and liked.

To each their own, there's an American Standard Strat plugged into the L6 as this is e-penned.

And in this opinion, "Spider Jam" is likely a contender for the stupidest name ever given to a product, let alone a splendid one. "Spider Jam" sounds like something served in a jar at the Addams Family home.
