Hi,

Finally got the amp replaced end of last week. So All's Well That Ends Well!!
A pitty though that this could not get solved in a smoother way. Anyways, thank you guys for the supportive messages.

When I tried the new amp I could not have it detected by Fuse. So I spent one night installing/deinstalling the various versions of Fuse and G-dec 3 drivers, connecting/disconnecting the usb link. Nearly went crazy as Fuse never detected the new amp properly on my same XP PC.

The day after I saw by chance that a new Fuse version was posted during the night, I installed it and it solved my issue right away.

I believe I am now back on track :)

Hi,

I just purchased a G-DEC 3 thirty 3 weeks ago. I must say I quite enjoyed it so far... Yesterday I tried to switch it on but it refused to start (I used it the day before with no problem). The blue screen is backlighted but nothing is displayed not even the Fender logo. No sound comes out when pluging in a guitar and no action on the front panel is changing this. Switching on and off several times has no effect.

So Am I the only unlucky customer to run into this? Furthermore the shop where I bought it is closed for 3 weeks during holliday time!

What it is that can go wrong during boot time? Is the amp booting from some hdd or flash that can get corrupted? ... just wondering.

Hope to be able to get that fixed quickly (any solution?) and continue experimenting with this nice little amp.

Olivier

Hi
I had the same issue, and I've fixe it updating the firmware from the Fender G-DEC 3 front panel:
Download the file containing the latest Fender G-DEC 3 firmware;
Copy the file to an SD card.
With the Fender G-DEC 3 powered off, insert the SD card into the unit.
Power the unit on AND because you can't see any of the on-screen instructions, you'll have to WAIT for like 15 minutes with your unit turned on.
Then reboot the unit and, cross your fingers, it should work just fine.
It worked on my gdeck 3 fifteen with the metal edition v 1.04
Cheers and rock on!!

On the next day I've got the same BSOD. I think it might be some damaged capacitor (condensor). Now it needs time to recharge the damage capacitor which works more or less like a battery.
So, you can skip the driver instalation part and just leave it on for 15 minutes more or less (I've tried for 10 minutes it didn't work). Then swich it off and turn it on again. It should boot normaly now. It works on mine.
Cheers
