Hi morris53,

Can you give us a bit more information as to what you are trying to update. I am assuming it is Fender FUSE? Also, are you on Mac or Windows?

Thanks very much.

Hi morris53,

OK. To update firmware on your Fender G-DEC 3, you will need to download the current 1.03 file. You can find that here: http://www.fender.com/support/gdec3/art ... p?kb_id=31.

Once you get this file, you will need to copy this to an SD card. Please make sure that you copy this file to the root level of the SD card. Plug the card into your G-DEC 3 amp, and power cycle your amp (power down and back on).

When you power on your amp, it will inform you that it has seen a firmware update, and ask you if you would like to install. Please follow the prompts on the screen. And you should be set to go.

Please let us know if you we can be of further assistance. Thanks.

I´m doing exactly that...I follow the onscreen instructions, and it´s confirmed that I have the 1,03 installed. I turn the amp off, and next time i put it on, same thing again...

Hi morris53,

It sounds like you may have left the firmware updater on the SD card. What you will want to do is to plug your SD card in to your PC, and manually delete the firmware file from the card. This way, when you power up your amp, you won't see the alert showing you the firmware updater on your SD card.

Powered off, took out the SDcard, disconnected the USB cable, powerded on...This message on the screen;UPDATE FOUND;G-DEC 3 VERSION 1:03 Press Start to update Press Exit to Skip Bootv 1.01
Nothing happens when I push the "Exit" - button, pushing "Start" starts the update...
Frustrating...to me it seems like the updatefile is stuck on the harddrive on the amp. Is there a way to completely erase the harddrive?
By the way, I love this machine, its great,,

Hi morris53,

It sounds like the updater may have worked, but is getting stuck. Have you tried to power the amp off/on, and check ( as the amp is starting up) in the lower right corner to see if the amp says "1.02" or "1.03"? Please start by checking this. If the amp says 1.03, you are good to go.

In regard to your other question, yes, you can completely restore the amp's hard drive. The files are on the DVD installer. The folder is called G-DEC Factory Restore. There is a read-me there, and it is fairly straight forward. If you would like assistance with the restore process, please call or email us, and we will be glad to assist. Also, please be sure to back up any data (Presets/Band Tracks) you may have loaded on the amp's hard drive as they will be lost on reformatting.

Hi morris53,

You should be fine now. What had happened is that the restore function has restored your amp excluding the firmware. This is normal. You do not need to do anything further unless you are still seeing specific issues.
