My assignment for work today was figuring out how to use the G-DEC3s we have in stock so that I can explain the features to people and demo it for them. I work at a guitar store, in sales and repairs. I wasn't particularly interested in these amps when they first came out, but now I'm actually getting really excited about them. I may go ahead and get one of them myself. Something to replace what I do with my old Line 6 Toneport as far as recording and practicing goes. I love the fact that's it's basically the same concept as the Toneport but in amp form.

I had a few questions though.
First, the red light on the save button won't go away. I think we've tried changing presets too, but it's still there. I just found the advanced owner's manual here online and after reading it I understand that it turns red when an unsaved change is made. I just wonder why it's still there.

Second, when I was playing around with the FUSE software I noticed that there was an area where you could access songs already on your computer (I think). At work the computer is a PC and it only had a couple of sample songs on it, so those were the ones which showed up. We tried copying some AC/DC (my boss's favorite) and SRV (my favorite) songs onto the computer but since he's technology illiterate and I'm a die hard Mac person we couldn't figure out how to get those to show up. We could hardly figure out how to copy the songs from another computer onto a USB drive and transfer them because PCs are so stinkin' stupid. Anyway, end of PC rant...

My question is this. Could you, on a Macintosh, access your entire library of MP3s from the FUSE software? (Or on a PC, could you theoretically access all your WAV files if you knew how to get around the stupidity?) And if you could, could you play it on through either the software or the amp without having to copy it onto an SD card? And would it just be a click and drag thing on a Mac without having to go through the hassle of finding the right folder? I do understand how the SD card works (on a Mac at least), so even if you could only use that it would still be pretty awesome. But it would be incredible if you could just access your MP3s directly.

Another question here, do you get access to the same tone and band presets on both the Fifteen and the Thirty? Or does the Thirty come with more? If it does, could you download those extra presets to use with your Fifteen?

And finally to those of you who own one, what do you think about it? What are your likes/dislikes?

I'm so sorry about the triple post. I had some trouble with my internet connection so I couldn't tell if it worked or not because it wouldn't load. If a moderator could take of the extra posts I'd really appreciate it. :)

Ok, first item, its not obvious. Push red "save" once, then wait a moment and push red"save" a second time.

Second log question: 1) you can store a lot on SD cards, that way, you can keep a copy safe while people play. Song and associated presets.

2) Any song or preset can be over written from FUSE or SD card. There are 100 preset slots on both 15 an 30, memory size is the same Kind of nice I think.

Lastly: I hate some presets <most overdrives>, but love most others. This may be the best practice amp ever invented. With the output of the 30 going to another amp you have tremendous capability for a gigging machine. Try it, the sound is really good.

Well, I guess with my second I really meant to ask whether or not you could take a song from itunes and load it directly to FUSE, and would it be audible from the amp's speaker?

And that's cool that both amps have the same memory.

If you convert it from iTunes format to wav or mp3, you can!

Oh wow, that's extremely cool. That's definitely one point I'm going to try to get across to people. That opens up a lot of possibilities. :)
