I have yet to plug in my phones. I have read of the phone jack making the amp no longer work after someone uses it. Does this occur in every GDEC? I afraid to use it.

I use mine on a daily basis and so far I have not had any problems. It could be because I am very careful, but then again it could very well be that I am just lucky though. I too have heard that there have been problems and I just hope that it does not happen to me.

Best to wring it out completely while it's new and under max warranty, in this opinion.

So, there's an issue with headphones causing problems with the speaker? Apparently this happened to me! Why and what's the fix?

Hey jcinrockwall,

Welcome to the Fender forums. The problem is that a few terminals inside of the headphone jack don't release when the headphone plug is removed. This causes the amp to think there is still a pair of headphones plugged in so it cuts the signal going to the speaker. If you believe you are affected by this issue I would advise that you give us a call here or contact us by email.

So that's the thing? I had my G Dec 30 for a few weeks and had the headphones plugged in and the next morning, turned it on and everything was dead dead dead. Took it back to the store I purchased it from, my stack of receipts in hand and they exchanged one for me. The darnedest thing. Be sure to keep all your receipts, and check that headphone thing out while you're still fresh and under warranty. Good luck.
