This guy demonstrates how to use the G-DEC, along with the software that comes with it. I cannot understand why Fender continues to ignore users crying for more documentation when a guy in the United Kingdom has put this kind of indepth stuff on his own.

It is an arrogance of Fender's part, all they want to do is sell as much stuff as possible, and let the buyers fend for themselves. Thanks Nevada Music in UK.... oh, and thanks for nothing Fender.

I thought the guy in the video was a Fender rep who is paid to go around to music stores and demonstrate the product for people. Whoever pays him, looks like he's doing a good job.

I grow more and more puzzled by the various screeds regarding the lack of assistance. From my perspective, Fender has produced a basic manual to get you started (I agree it's very limited), an advanced manual posted online (excellent for solving the majority of questions I had), a few short videos on the site (not polished but quickly got me started uploading and downloading presets), and most importantly not one but two online forums where Fender reps will actually respond to questions and even beg you to call them directly so they can deal personally with your problem.

IMHO, the only place they seriously dropped the ball was Mac support which they over promised. They probably should have just concentrated on Windows and then brought a Mac version into play later.

Agreed - it's my only gripe*, but as a Mac-using designer, quite a big one. I've resolved most of my system compatibility issues, but it was a pain in the neck getting there and I got pretty angry along the way (as witnessed by previous posts).

As for information from Fender though: for the price, I can't see anything that gets near to the new G-Dec (mine's a 3 30) - either as a combo or separates - so a lack of hard copy manuals is balanced by a great value "all-in-one" product.

Also, credit Fender for hosting a Forum that allows uncensored criticism of them - which, it seems (as is the nature of these forums) always outweighs the praise.

*Apart from a faulty headphones jack 15 days after purchase.
