I recently picked up a Digitec JamMan Looper to use with my G Dec 3 Thirty. I had read something on this forum concerning the combination.
I copied this from the forum before I bought my G Dec. I have been looking for it to ask a question of the person that wrote it. I can not seem to find the post. "Unfortunately the loop is limited to thirty five seconds in high resolution mode. I have remedied this by connecting a Digitech JamMan through the line out (Line out feature is only on the Thirty Watt amp) and routing it back through the auxiliary input! This gives you over six hours recording time. Never forget a lick or idea again! I have loaded tons of backing tracts in both MP3 and WAV formats onto an SD card and have more than enough to keep practicing long into the night." Does anyone know where I can find this post? I am looking for the exact cable connections between the two devices to accomplish this.

Also the JamMan uses an optional footswitch which can be made quickly and cheaply. You can see pictures of the one I made and directions on how to make one on my website. It is near the bottom of the page.

A little bump for this one - I'd be interested to know how that works too.

Hi, I'm using a Boss RC2 looping pedal with my acoustic guitars and after reading your post, I wander if it could be used the same way you do with your JamMan.
But: quote:
"....by connecting a Digitech JamMan through the line out (Line out feature is only on the Thirty Watt amp) and routing it back through the auxiliary input! "

But does this kind of connection produce any looping feedback since the line out guitar signal enters the JamMan or the RC2 and it's reintroduced in the G-Dec3 30 auxiliary line input. I don't know if that could work (I doubt it) on one shot recording but what about overdud :?:

I am the one that started this thread. I have the G Dec 3 and a Digitec JamMan (just got it). I saw this statement(the one in quotes in the original post) on this forum and printed in out before I got my equipment. I am not sure how to cable the two devices together to get the result the person states can be obtained. I am looking for information on how to put these two devices together to make this happen. Right now I have the JamMan in front of the amp. Both devices have an Aux jack so I was hoping someone with more knowledge on this subject would jump in and give me some direction.

I know that the digitec creates a wav file for its loops and stores it on a 2gb card in my case. The unit also has a usb connection. I guess if it gets down to it I could copy the wav file from the Jamman into the audio folder on the G Dec sd card.

Any help in this would be appreciated!!

Hi, I'm pretty sure that connecting any recording device to the G-Dec3 line out and then this same device to the G-Dec line in will create a feedback loop and can even create some damage.
I'll try to connect my RC2 looper aux in to the G-Dec3 line out and then connect the looper output to an other amp and in that case to my not so old G-Dec30 or to my PA system. In doing so, I'll be able to take advantage of all the sounds getting out of my new G-Dec3 and be able to record entire songs...only 16 minutes in mono mode with the Boss RC2 but a lot more with the Jamman ). I'll also be able to record these songs to my SD card beeing able to use them using only the G-Dec3. In your case I would suggest (the same )... that you connect your G-Dec3 line out to the Jamman Aux in and then the Jamman output to an other guitar amp, or a PA system or (don't know if I'm right about this one: Jamman USB to computer.)
Any ideas about this subject is welcome.

If indeed you do get a feedback loop (which seems likely) the only point I can see to this exercise would be to copy the G-Dec backing tracks to the Jamman so as to extend the looping times available.

But then the Jamman has to go back in front of the G-Dec, which means you'll only be able to add the naked guitar sounds to the loops, unless you get a multi-fx pedal... in which case it seems you'll have only bought the G-Dec for a few backing tracks.

Or am I missing something? :?

Test result: I don't know if it could work with the Jamman but it's working without any problem (as described in my earlier post) with the Boss RC2. 8)

But what exactly does that now enable you to do?

I'd like to make a Jamman (stereo) work with the G-Dec (for quantize and auto start in my case, rather than longer loops necessarily) - does your 'system' effectively insert the Jamman behind the G-Dec's effects / amp sims?

It gives me the opportunity to record an entire song (mono) maybe you could do it in stereo with the Jamman.

Yes it does with the RC2 and I'm pretty sure you can do it with the Jamman if it can overdub using it's line in input.
The RC2 can quantize only if you insert in it's memory it's own drum patterns.
The only thing is that you need to use a second amp to do it.
