Here is my stock:
G-Dec 3-30, Fuse 1.1.3, firmware 1.03
desktop with Vista SP2
HP SDHC 8 gb card (Q6276A)

Before upgrading to firmware 1.03 I was able to access my sd card from my computer and from the G-Dec (in usb mode). After upgrading to firmware 1.03 and using the utility mode option for formatting SD cards on the G-Dec the only way to access my sd card now (in Windows explorer) is from the G-Dec (in usb mode) or by using Fuse. Windows is unable to format or access the sd card anymore unless I use the G-Dec in usb mode. If you want to use your sd card in the future for camera, photo or video this is not possible. I will only use this sd card for the G-Dec now.

Warning: don't format your sd card using the utility mode option for formatting SD cards on the G-Dec 3. I don't know if it's related to the HP 8 gb card (Q6276A) or this utility mode formatting.

I formatted mine using a Windows XP SP2 computer with the same G-DEC 3 setup, and have no problem accessing from any source.

Hi,

Had you formatted on your computer or on the G-Dec with the utility mode ?

Hey FenderQuebec,

We've formatted many different SD Cards on many different amps here and have found no issues. Also, we've always recommended that you use your SD card exclusively with your G-DEC 3 and not use your cameras SD card. The G-DEC 3 installs its own file structure on the card and while it won't cause you to lose any photos or any other data, why risk it? SD cards are cheap nowadays.
Are you saying you are unable to read any data on the card using the card reader on your computer? You may want to backup your files and format the card again.

Hi Loren,

Yes I am unable to read any data on the card using the internal card reader on my computer since the formatting on the G-Dec 3 (format many times), but if the sd card is in the G-Dec 3 I can access the sd card with the usb drive mode or with the Fuse software. Now if I want to drag and drop files or presets on the sd card I must connect the G-Dec 3 to my computer and put the card in the G-Dec 3 and use the usb drive mode. In G-Dec 3 usb drive mode Windows detect a fat 32 drive (G-DEC SD), but if the card is in my internal card reader Windows ask to format the drive and is unable to do it (tested with Visat SP2 and XP SP3).
If I take another SDHD card (not formated on the G-Dec 3) I can read it anywhere. Maybe the file system formated by the G-Dec 3 is the problem. Before the firmware 1.03 when you put a fat 32 formatted SDHC card in the G-Dec 3 these folders (Audio, Midi, Phrase, Presets) were created but no formatting was done.

Sounds like a problem with your card reader.

It does sound like it could be the card reader acting up. But, you are able to read another card with it. I'm not familiar with HP SD cards but I'm willing to bet that HP doesn't make them. They could be made by one of the companies whose cards we don't support and HP slaps their name on them. I wouldn't think that the amp is causing this issue. It formats the card as FAT, and FAT is FAT no matter what kind of device (computer, camera, amp) is doing the formatting. If possible, I would try formatting a Sandisk SD card in the amp. We have seen issues with some other brands but never with Sandisk.

Hi Loren,

This HP card is made by PNY Electronics headquartered in Parsippany, New Jersey. I suppose this is a cheap card, but for now only the G-Dec 3 can read this card.
