Hi Lance,

Have you installed the Fender ASIO driver from the DVD? If so, do you have a track record-enabled? Keep in mind that the Band Level knob on the amp functions as the audio output volume control in Ableton Live or any other ASIO compatible DAW.

Thanks for the reply. I do have the fender driver installed, it shows when i plug the usb cord in. i have the band level set at about four and clicked on the record-enable button within ableton.

perhaps i'm missing something else?

Oh okay. In the Ableton Audio Preferences window, there should be a "Hardware Setup" button. Click that and you should get a window displaying all of your audio devices. Make sure that DEC Audio or USB Audio is enabled. Disable the other audio devices by clicking on the symbol next to them. Once the symbol next to DEC Audio or USB Audio is lit, you can adjust the buffer size of it by clicking the words DEC Audio and adjusting the slider at the bottom of the window.

Let me know if that works for you.

Hey Loren,

I checked the audio setup in ableton, i do not see DEC audio or usb audio, just the name of my card, Realtek AC'97 Audio,
the two icons below, one that is labeled "out" and one labled "in." Does this mean I don't have a necessary driver installed?

It usually does mean that the driver isn't there. I would uninstall and reinstall the driver once more as well as unplug and reconnect you amp. As long as you have "ASIO" selected as the Driver Type and "Fender Universal ASIO" as the Audio Device in the Audio Prefs window it should work. There is also a test tone generator in the Audio Prefs window that can be helpful in making sure everything is connected and working properly.
