I am totally new to MIDI and I need to solve something. I am not getting good results yet.

I have a Fender G-DEC 15 watt amp ( note: that is not the G-DEC 3 model ) Serial # GP054461BR and I have the M-Audio Uno 1-In/1-Out Class Compliant USB-toMIDI Interface cable Serial # 44905728954. I also have The software JAMMER Songmaker 5 ( v.5.4.1.1 ) . I have Windows XP Home edition,
Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_3_gdr.100216-1514 : Service Pack 3)

It's not working properly.

See... If I open my JAMMER program and play one of the MIDI files with the
"Microsoft GS Wavetable SW synth" it souds real good... but if I switch the settings to my "USB Audio Device" ( that's what sends the signal to the G-DEC I guess ) I get something that sounds real terrable... it's all distorted and just plain screwed up garbage...

What do I have going wrong here and how do I fix it...?

Does it sound all screechy and overloaded? If so, I had the same problem. The solution: Deselect the Enable MIDI Thru option on the MIDI page of the Preferences dialog.

Let me know if this works for you.

Hay Strummer...!!!

You're a genious. Thank you. You fixed it for me too and anybody else who is conserned with this problem.

And... I have a picture for them of what to look for if they need it, but I can't upload that here. So, if anybody wants to see a picture of the screen shot of the JAMMER Preferances dialogue box with an arrow that I put there to point out the " Enable MIDI Thru option on the MIDI"... just e-mail me at tdelello@bellsouth.net and I will be happy to sent it back to you.

Maso
( happy now...! :D )

Possibly you could help me. I unfortunately used a uno midi cable and for some reason occassionaly my G-Dec30 will start going to a screen that says "Downloading drums" it is real annoying. Any suggestions?
Sincere thanks, Bigbandan
