Hello, I am a retard when it comes to computers so please be patient. I'm sure this problem I am having is something I'm doing wrong. I have a new G DEC 3. I am trying to figure out how to save downloaded backing tracks to my SD card. I have downloaded them to the folder Fender/audio folder. I wpould like to know how to store them on the SD card which is 4 giggs. I don't see the harddrive or SD card at all in My Computer. I'm not sure how to access them. When I think I access them, fuse says amp not connected, but it is. Also the amp says updating data on it's screen where it locks up until I kill power to it and reset it. Can anyone more computer savey tell me what I may be doing wrong? Running Windows XP Pro, SP3.

Do you have an SD card reader for your PC? I just copied the files from my computer to the audio folder on the SD card.

I think you can also copy them from the computer to the GDEC with the card inserted but I haven't tried it that way. I remember reading something about putting the GDEC in USB mode, probably from the Utilities menu.

From the G-Dec 3 advanced manual:
In the Utility menu
USB Drive—Use the USB Drive menu to connect the G-DEC 3
to your computer to enable direct access to all media files on
the G-DEC 3 hard drive (HD). You will find three folders on the
G-DEC 3 HD:
FOLDER NAME USED FOR FILE TYPES
Audio = Band Tracks .wav / .mp3
Midi = Band Tracks (MIDI) .mid
Phrase = Phrase Sampler files .wav
♫ There is no menu function on the G-DEC 3 that allows
you to copy media files (band tracks) directly between
an SD card and the G-DEC 3 hard drive. However, you
can accomplish this from your computer when the
G-DEC 3 is connected as a USB drive.

Just copy your files in the Audio folder on the G-DEC SD drive with Windows Explorer (if wav or mp3).

Just be advised that transferring files to your SC card via USB while it is in the amp can be a long, long process. Granted, I have decided to stick with Wave files for the added clarity, but the other night I started transferring 160 backing tracks. It took almost SIX hours! Not kidding.

I have a card reader in the front of my computer, but it doesn't like something about the SD card after it's been formatted by the amp. Maybe I'll figure that out. In the meantime, I just start the transfer and go to bed.
