If I use the G-Dec 3 fifteen in "stand alone" mode ( i.e without being connected to my PC ) then everything works great. I can select a pre-set and then play a band track. all works fine.

If I connect up the USB connector to my PC, then the pre-sets work fine, I can play my guitar with that pre-set no problems but it will not play band tracks. The only way I can play a bandtrack is if I remove the USB cable.

When I have it connected to my PC any sounds I play on the PC come over the Amp no problems. I.E if I open up an MP3 on the PC it plays on the AMP but when I try and play a band track from the AMP. Nothing !

Any Ideas??

Gary

no answers or ideas? Guess I will return it for a refund. I am a bit disappointed really. This is my first Fender product and was thinking of the new American Special HSS but it has really put me off !

Hey Gary,

I apologize for the delay in response. It sounds like your PC is streaming some kind of data to your amp. Do you have any other USB devices connected to your computer. Have you disabled the Windows system sounds? Any data being sent to the amp can stop Band Tracks from playing until the amp is disconnected. Please feel free to call us here at 480-596-7195. We are more than happy to help get this issue resolved for you.

Ok. I have dug a bit deeper. When the Backing tracks are not working the PC says it is using "USB audio".
If I then un-install this and re-install the fender ASIO driver it works ( and the PC says it is using DEC) But I have now re-installed the fender ASIO about 8 or 9 times !!

Its a brand new Windows 7 (Pro) PC and seams a bit strange that I have to re-install the fender driver from the CD all the time ! The PC says it is installed ( i.e the uninstall option is available program menu) but when the USB cable is connected between the AMP and the PC it uses a generic USB driver and not the installed Fender one !! Again, re-installing the Fender driver solves it.....till the next time !

A Bug perhaps Fender??
