Okay... it's working now and it looks to me like the female USB plug on the back of my PC tower was faulty because I plugged the cable into another one and I got results ... sort of....I got three green blinking lights and something that almost sounds like music comming out of my G-DEC off of the JAMMER program. The same MIDI file sounded okay before I swiched it over to the G-DEC but now the signal is all scrambled up and sounds like an intergalactic space nightmere...!

So... If I open my JAMMER program and play one of the MIDI files with the
"Microsoft GS Wavetable SW synth" it souds real good... but if I switch the settings to my "USB Audio Device" ( that's what sends the signal to the G-DEC ) I get something that sounds real terrable... it's all distorted and just plain screwed up garbage...

I'm making progress here... but this still ain't right...!!!

Anybody got another clue for me...???

There's a lot of info about the G-Dec(s) on this site:

The situation has gotten just a little stranger...

Check this out...

I told you above what happens when I try to play a MIDI file through my JAMMER program... so now I tried to play a .gp3 file from my "Guitar Pro V.6" program ( if you don't know what that is you should check it out at http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php ) and it works rather well... well almost that is...! I have a .gp3 file that I play a lot on there and it has four tracks; Rhythem Guitar, Bass, Organ and Clap... but only three of those tracks come through my G-DEC. The one that doesn't comes through ( Rhythem Guitar ) comes through the speakers to my PC...

Figure that one out...!!!

Stay tuned Jason. We will get through this together.

Go to: http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/manuals/060424_Uno_UG_EN01.pdf and find the pdf file for the M-Audio Adobe file.

Also Go to: http://www.fender.com/support/manuals/pdfs/manuals_elec/guitarpdf/G-DEC_MIDI_Guide.pdf and find the pdf file for the MIDI function of Fender's G-DEC product.

Okay... I think that I have gotten to the bottom of this.

I gave Jason a link in the above posting for M-Audio's Adobe .pdf file on this product. Follow that and scroll down to the subtitle: Installation for Advanced Windows XP Users that is on page 3 of 6 and read that...

Actually, it says the you don't even need any drivers unless you want to have "Advanced" capabilities because this product is some kind of "Class Cpmpliant", what ever that means... But if you do want to download the drivers... the Adobe .pdf instructs you to ignore the alert and press "Download Anyway". Go see for youeself.

But I still have performance issues of my own yet to work out here. It's working, but it's not working right.
