The folder structure on SD and HD on GDec 3 is very crude (1 big list of files it gets pretty hard to navigate quickly with the dial if u have more than 100 items to scroll thru).

Suggestions:

1) Nested folders (folder within folder) read by the GDec.
2) A search function (by letter or number or whatever)
3) Tagging (Genre / Artist/ Year/ Date / Rating) would be awesome. Fender fuse has tagging why not everything else.
4) Sorting (Genre / Artist/ Year/ Date / Rating)
5) The GDec main interface dial should have velocity sensitivity like the the faster you turn the faster it scrolls. You could assign a button if held down longer it scrolls pages faster. (GDec supports 32gb SDHC how much time is it going to take to scroll 1 big list if the dial is 1 to1 ratio)

If the above suggestions are implemented then the Gdec can scale up as the SD cards get larger.

I couldn't agree more. Also the capability to have a playlist or Setlist where you could create multiple sets from all of your backing track files.

Also it is interesting that in preset mode you can attach a backing track to a preset, but there is no ability to use the QA1, QA2 & QA3 presets when you start the backing track associated with the preset. Once you start the assocated song, you should be able to use the footswitch to access the other QA presets.

Thanks and I hope some of these items can be addressed in FUSE software updateds and GDEC Firmware updates. I don't want to have to purchase the GDEC 4 to get updated functionality. ; )

Take care,

Great suggestions!

In the meantime, I'm thinking of buying a few smaller (2GB) SD cards and creating different playlists on each card. Then you can just pop in the card that you want to use. The 2GB cards can be had for less than $10.

Another helpful thing I've done is to change each mp3 file name to add a 2 character prefix with an abbreviation of the artists name. For example, AB-Statesboro Blues, EC-After Midnight, etc. That way they get grouped alphabetically by artist.

Agreed. We need a better folder system.

I agree. I also think it's a pain when making effects adjustments from the amp to have to scroll through each effect (stompbox, modulation, delay, reverb) and their settings, just to get to one that's further on down the chain/menu to make adjustments. I think there should be a main effects screen or home screen so that you can quickly select the effect you want to modify right off the bat.
