Can you use effects pedals/switches with the G-DEC 30. I assume that you have to bypass the FX features on the amp..and I am trying to find how to do that. But does the AMP selection feature mess anything up also? My son bought a DIGITECH 355 multi-effects footbox and he says the effects don't come out right on the G-DEC 30 but work fine with other amps?????????

My duo partner, who does almost all of the lead guitar playing when we are performing, has used his G-DEC most of the time with his PODXT Live floor pedal system. He simply took one of the G-DEC channels and neutered the preset on it so that there were NO effects on that channel.

You can go into the G-DEC itself or you can use Fender's G-DEC Edit program that you can download from the Fender site. Just remove everything - reverb, other effects, overdrive, so you end up with a very plain channel and then use your outboard effects pedals to run the show.

Rick's had very good luck doing this.

Good luck.

The "Happy Strum" patch is pretty close to bare. I've used a Korg PX5D with this setting and it's sounded fine.

You can also run a stereo signal to the RCA inputs on the back of the G-DEC (the little red & white inputs) and that will send the signal through with no additional processing. I've done this to run a keyboard through the G-DEC before I got a mixing board and it worked fine.
