Anyone been able to play and compare the sound of these side by side? Chomping at the bit to order one just wondering if I should spend the extra C note for the 30W because of the different speaker.

Sorry, Joe I can't help you on the comparison. I have always stayed with the GDEC 30 as I want as strong of a sound as possible. I'd suggest maybe dropping by a good music store that would have one of each on demo. Nothing is as good as playing one of each before you buy.

That's why he said good music store. :D

I think smaller music stores are getting them before the chains, like Guitar Center and Sam Ash. The guy in GC told me they normally get in new products a few weeks after they start shipping.

Spend the extra money and go with the Thirty. Back when I was buying my first G-DEC I purchased the 15 first, but couldn't get back to the store quick enough to swap it out. You want the 10" speaker and the full 30 watts, no matter what you're using it for.

I played with both today and I walked out with the 15. I have no need for the line outs. I usually play @ low volumes. I would say it depends on how you're gonna use it. I hate headphones and can't play loud usually.
