Some dealers saying G-Dec 30 amp has been discontinued. Any truth to that?

Seems likely as the new GDEC 3 Thirty & GDEC 3 Fifteen are now out and shipping. The GDEC 30 was the pervious version of the amp and has now been replaced with the GDEC 3 Thirty.

I imagine you could possibly still find some place that has the previous GDEC 30 still in stock, but I would go with the new GDEC 3 as it is a great improvment over the previous units in my opinion.

The G-DEC 30 has been discontinued. The new Fender G-DEC 3 is currently shipping. Check it out at your local dealer. It's amazing.

I have to agree with Loren. I picked mine up on Tuesday afternoon and have done nothing but play. There is so much I can do I don't even know where to start. This thing is way cool.....Good job Fender!

Can't wait to try it out. Trying to convince myself to pay the extra cash for the g-dec 3 thirty. Any thoughts?

I am very happy with mine. Myself and a friend write and record together and occasionally play out a bit. A couple of times we had hired hands to play with us but most often we took our tracks from the studio to backing tracks and used an mp3 player. With the GDEC 3 now I can put the songs on a card (or I could copy them to the amp) and use the "optional" fender footswitch to start the songs and not have to mess with the mp3 player. I rehearsed with it for the first time last night as I just got it a couple of days ago. I had the backing tracks assigned to the stereo outs on the back throug the PA and had the guitar mapped to the speaker only on the amp and it worked out great. I was also able to use 3 different preset assignments on the footswitch to change presets which worked out very nice. I still wish there was a way to create a set list or "playlist" but as a workaround I just copied the songs in the set it's own SD card and renamed the songs with 01, 02, 03 etc. in front of them and then I can advance through the set in order with the foot pedal. Renaming the songs was cumbersome and time consuming though compared to if you could do it in FUSE somehow so I hope Fender is listening and does whatever they need to do to add that feature. This thing is so performance geared with the ability to mengle presets, midi tracks, wav and mp3 tracks and phrasing stuff for performance I just can't believe they didn't think of having the ability to define a setlist with all of those songs and data you have access to.

Nevertheless the whole package is very cool and barring some surprise or show stopper I don't know about I'd have to say this is not only one of the most useful amps I've ever owned, but probably one of the most useful pieces of gear of any type I've owned. Seriously this product is maturing nicely.

Thanks Fender (let me know if you need to know where to send the check. ;) )
