I'm just wondering if the GDEC comes with something, either a manual or a DVD or something that shows you how to use the amp and it's software? I've been researching them and I've played the current discontinued model and I think they're cool but I've never used any software of this type before so I'm wondering if it's user friendly for a newbie?

Responding from the B-Dec side of things, the DEC Preset Editor does a great job of allowing you to tweak and store as many different patches as you want. The only drawback is you have top have a midi interface to use it so if the computer is not your thing, you would have to jump through some hoops to get up to speed.

They come with a manual, but you can download one here:

If the DEC you buy doesn't have one, it may come in handy for getting to know how to work the amp.
You don't really need to use the software to enjoy the G-DEC. You can pretty much plug in, turn on, and play. The interface of the amp is fairly intuitive, and you soon get faster at navigating through all the menu items. Once you get the hang of tweaking and saving settings on the amp, you're in business.

The software and a little bit of computer knowledge, plus a USB to MIDI cable all come in handy for things like updating the firmware, backing up all those settings you've painstakingly crafted, and in the case of a G-DEC 30, loading songs into the amp. If you want to see what's available, the software for the G-DEC 15 can be found here:

So, don't get hung up on the computer and software thing. All you need is a guitar and you're rockin'!
