Hi Loren,

A couple questions. I have a G-dec 30. Is there a big difference between the G-dec 30 and the G-dec 3? Also will the fender fuse software work with the 30 and if so I can I get the download.

Thanks Ken

Hello Ken,

First off, let me say that the new Fender G-DEC 3 completely blows the G-DEC 30 out of the water in terms of amp models, effects, sound quality, audio backing tracks, and ease of use. The Fender FUSE software was designed for the G-DEC 3 and will not work with the G-DEC 30. The new G-DEC 3 is a whole new animal compared to the G-DEC 30. They share the G-DEC name and basic functionality, but not much else.

Loren,

Thanks for taking time to answer our questions. So the 3 sounds like an entirely new beast. Is it safe to assume that any user created presets on the current G-Dec models cannot be transferred to the new G-Dec 3's?

That is correct. Any presets created on any of the previous G-DEC models cannot be directly transferred to the new G-DEC 3 models.

Ms Howard, It's nice to see that your taking on the active role, how much playing have you done on the new G DEC-3 yourself, and what guitar and type of music are you playing? I'm first on the list to receive my own in April.

Hey guys,

I posted this in another thread but I'll post it here as well. The amp models for the G-DEC 3 are:

Garage Rock
Garage Punk
Brit Blues

Thanks,
Loren

Thanks Loren for all the answers to our questions. Regarding the amp models. Most are self explanatory but I was curious about the 2 Garage amp models — what amps are they suppose to be modeling? And, is the Brit Blues suppose to model a Bluesbreaker amp?

Thanks!

Cool. I'm sure you'll be blown away by the capabilities of these amps. As for myself I'm far from a seasoned player. I've been playing a DeArmond Starfire Custom and a few other guitars through the Fender G-DEC 3 amps since October and I've been loving it.

I'm sorry Traynorman. I thought I answered your question last week. The Fender G-DEC 3 does not have a speaker output. However, the Thirty watt model does have stereo 1/4" line output jacks.

Hi Loren,

New guy here but longtime Fender Guitar and Amp Man. Question about my G-Dec situation.

I had a G-Dec 15 with the faulty data wheel and just brought it to a Authorized Fender Amp dealer today and they'll submit the claim and Fender should be sending a new replacement G-Dec 15.

My question is are they still shipping the older amps or the new G-Dec 3's? I was planning on getting the new 3 anyway and actually want to upgrade to the G-Dec30-3. He didn't know what they were shipping and said I couldn't get credit to upgrade. Just curious as to what I can expect or do to upgrade?

Regards,
lunchmeat

Lunchmeat,

Please let us know what the verdict is on what they end up replacing your amp with. I have the same issue but haven't decided on taking it in after seeing the glory that is the GDec 3.

Is the user manual available for G-Dec 3? It would be useful to learn about how to use the amp and the software.

I'll definitely keep you'll informed. They said it would be at least 3 weeks till I hear something ---aaaghhhhh the wait is already killing me. I used my G-Dec for practice EVERYDAY for the last 4 or 5 years. Kudos to Fender for taking care of this.

Loren,
Are any of these amp models related to the models found in the Super Champ XD or are they completely new? There seem to be several that are similar, i.e. three gain levels of Blackface, three levels of Tweed, three types of British, etc. I have found the tones in the SCXD to be very useable.
Thanks,
Mike
