What a tease!!! The NEW G-Dec 3 is all over the back cover of Feb 2010 issue of Guitar World. Says available April 2010. That's it.

Come on, spill with the specs! :D

On another note:
I do hope there is a better B-Dec on the way - I find the B-Dec 30 to be so cumbersome to use that I don't use it at all. I keep it updated from the Fender site and have never had a problem doing that. I recently put it up for sale and no one wanted it! Really could make the menu thing a ton better to navigate. Maybe even a larger, better quality display too.

The ad shows the official fender link for further info...

www.fender.com/gdec3

but it seems that that link is broken, or they haven't got it going yet (slow I.T. guys)

That is exciting! We were all bummin' because we thought Fender was
abandoning the DEC series. Now, we find out that Fender is moving forward
with new models. :P

looking closely at the picture, it looks like the new DEC might be a TWEED?
And, what's that cable coming out of the right side? Looks interesting!

GAS is rising...

Looks very interesting. I'm a bit bummed as I just bought the G-Deck 30, and had a heck of a problem getting it updated (USB/Midi Interface Issue).
Got it from a music shop here in New Zealand, they run $899 NZD but it was marked down to $699 floor model all they had left. They didn't even have the box or manual I had to carry it to my car in the rain, and download and print the manual. I was eager to get it because I couldn't find them on the Fender site and thought I might be out of luck if I waited.

Talk about bad timing, I just bought a Tele mim $1699 NZD in December and a Charvel So-Cal $2500 NZD end of November, plus allot of other bits and pieces so my wife is gonna KILL me if I buy another Amp... I might even have to sell some of my gear before I buy more sniff, sniff....

Hay don't get bummed out cause you bought a G-Dec 30. I did the same thing. Just take care of it as one day it will be sought after Big-Time like the Delux, Twins, etc. Taking the 30 out of production to replace it with a newer model is almost what Coke did with the New Coke... and now Coke is a classic!

The first post has a larger photo and an additional close-up of the display, which was not there prior.

Very nice. Thanks for the scans.

I'm still happily using my original G-DEC, which I bought soon after they came out. I've had no problems with mine and am glad I skipped the G-DEC 30 to wait for what came next.

That does look like tweed to me - maybe "black tweed" like Peavey uses.

I wonder what other new features the "3" will have? Some guesses:

-Card slot, as mentioned above, to save songs.
-USB interface instead of (or in addition to) MIDI
-Software to change and save settings with your PC, similar to the Digitech RP series of multi-effects pedals
-A looper with longer looping time

Just guessing here. I don't know but like the rest of you, I'll be waiting to find out.
