That is cool but have you seen the price tag?
$399!
Plus you still need an amp and a speaker!

O think it has built in speakers, Still pretty pricey. I'd rather have the Spider Jam if I was going in that direction since the GDec 30's gone. I hope my 30 lasts a while. First sign of trouble with it and it's Line Six.

With the -30 being discontinued, I wonder if something similiar and new will be unveiled at NAMM next month?

If the DEC series is as popular as we think, I would imagine that they would. I hope they do anyway...

Maybe the 30 becomes a 50 with more of everything and a clean channel and why not a 12" speaker ?

Had one of thoes before I got the G-DEC.. Nice but no cigar. Like a mini amp and not impressive Sold it as everyone agreed it was a gadget amp with little or no MOJO sounds. Sounded like a kids toy guitar with all the little flashing lights etc. The hefty price tag would lead you to believe it had some guts and unbeatable sound quality but I was left short. It does have more options then the G-Dec but lacks the true Fender MOJO ..... in my opnion

I like your thinking. I'd like to see a beefed up B-DEC -- like maybe 60
or 100 watts with a 15" speaker. Sadly, I'm skeptical it will happen.

I love my GDEC-30 and plan to keep it as long as it keeps working.
(I also got it cheap... many decisions are influenced by price)

But (just my usual 2 cents worth) I doubt seriously that a higher powered version is in the future. After all, you don't take a learning/practice amp (this is how it is marketed by Fender) and beef it up to compete with the pro amps!
IMHO the way it was marketed (remember? Guitar-Digital Entertainment Center) says it all... entertainment, not performance.
Probably the GDECjunior is all they really need for the practice catagory. Just enough features to make it fun to practice, reasonable price point (especially beginners), and none of the complex/problem electronics/software that has plagued the original GDEC.

The GDEC-30 was probably already bluring that line between practice level and performance. For the price (especially the recent price hikes), you could buy both a GDECjunior for home/practice and get a Frontman65 for gigs. Maybe not a truely professional setup, but far more usable/veratile than a 30-50w GDEC that has excess power for a practice amp, yet not quite good enough to cut it on the stage.

We'll see what might popup at the next NAMM.

There's no Fender Mojo in my GDec 30 at all. All I have is a bunch of over processed sounds out of the box. The GDec is a gadget amp too with flashing lights and lame effects LOL. Once you tame down all the over processed noise, it a neat practice tool. The only thing Fender on it is the Fender badge on the front. The Blackface and Tweed settings aren't even close. The MIDI backing tracks get boring pretty quickly too. I like to run live backing tracks through it.

I use it for it's intended purpose, a practice tool. It's fun and I also have the footswitch which works well once you get used to it. As a practice and learning too, it's great.

Fender came into the modeling amp game with a different idea. The competitions; Line 6, Cube, etc. are designed to give preset signature sounds. The Digital engine will take any input and apply a particular sound.

Both the Cyber family and the Gdec family, are designed for something slightly different. They give you two things the others don't. First, the software is very responsive. You can change picking technique, change pickup selections, etc. and hear the change. You actually hear the guitar's pickups for what they are. Second, the software emulates a circuit which you can do almost anything you wish.

These two characteristics allow you to set a lightly broken blues sound when playing hard and by lightening you picking, clean up the sound. You can also roll the guitar volume knob to change from highly over driven to clean just like the old tube amps of the late 50s and 60s.

There is a disadvantage in the market place. There are no canned, signature sounds. To get the sound you want or to see the potential of the product, you have to tinker for a while to first learn the equipment and then find the sound. This takes more time than most people have patience.

Now:
Are the presets over processed? Yes.
Is there an easily dialed up signature sound? No.
Do you have to tinker a lot to get a signature sound? Yes. Unfortunately, the Gdecs don't have the factory emulated "Your Amp Collection" presets of the Cyber family.

If you want a "select a sound" kind of amp, the Gdec is not for you. Get a Rolland Cube or one of the Boss Blackface or Tweed pedals. There are no better signature sound devices available.

In the gdec there is the Fender MOJO. It just takes a while and some stubbornness to find it.
