Thanks for the help.

Hi Dwight,
Unfortunately the tuner for the G-DEC/G-DEC30 cannot be calibrated. Thanks,

Do you suspect that your tuner is off? I have a B-DEC and my instructor has a G-DEC. Everytime I go over there and tune up, it seems that I'm off by the exact same amount in the same direction. Maybe it's just a temperature change or some other natural factor affecting my bass but it seemed suspicious.

Between that and your post, I had to know. So I hooked up some test equipment with a phase-locked frequency source to my B-DEC just to check it for myself. I started down at 41.2 HZ (E1 -- typical bottom end of a bass) up to 440 Hz (A4 -- 5th fret of high E string on regular guitar). The B-DEC tuner was dead nuts on right down to 0.1 Hz (the limit of the test equipment I used).

In this day and age of accurate, inexpensive frequency sources, guitar tuners should be very accurate without any need for calibration.

Since my initial post I checked my Korg tuner against my G-dec and found a difference, then I rang my A440 tuning fork and found that although I had set my korg to the fork it had some how migrated almost a quater step flat. Once I reset the Korg My guitar now rings true on both the G-dec and the Korg tuners. So I guess my g-dec is actually right on. Hope nothing can happen to push it out of wack. But for now it's no longer an issue.
