I've had my G-dec 30 since March of this year and have enjoyed the "Band in a box" part of it most of all. I am a returning player, having been away from music for a long time. So as the fingers callused a little more ,I would play a little more and push more buttons on the amp as the Muse or the nosey old man in me directed.
Lately the Drums button has caught my eye and I found yet another good thing about this amp. There are 86 patterns listed in the manual on page 11. That means there 30 some odd patterns yet to be tinkered with. Just when I was running out of jamming with the CD player steam, here is another set of goodies to play with(pun?).

It's a great little amp for practicing with. I use streaming midi from computer to G-DEC30 to jam with.

I've got a huge spreadsheet of all the amp types (blackface, champ, etc) and started to fill in different settings/patches and the resulting sounds.

Are you using Soundtrek's Jammer Pro with it?

I'm sneaking up on the midi part, I have your hardware suggestions from an earlier post written on the manual cover and now that the days are cooling off I'll have a project to keep me busy.
Glad you asked about the software, I'm using Windows XP Home, is Jammer Pro compatiable? I'm assuming this is the downloadable program from My G-Dec.com?
I have Workerbee's massive spread sheet printed out, there are quite a few interesting setting to be tinkered with there as well. One thing that I have noticed is going from a guitar with P90 pups to a Gretsch with the stock (for now) Filtronic pups means changing the Amp setting to fit the guitar's "personality". I've saved a few presets for each guitar and the tweeking continues.
Your right about this being a great pratice tool, I can even put on a set of headphones when the girls take over the tv.

Take care,

Hey Mike,

That sounds like a very interesting method you have set up there. I'm probably going to have upgrade my old PC before I can get something like that going over here. I'll be keeping an eye out for this when I get the new PC up and running.
