Anyone out there know if this is a common problem and whether there is a download to rectify it. The selector knob on my G-Dec is way out of control it doesnt change the selection up or down but selects what it wants. It'll be on preset 00 turn it left and it'll go anywhere except preset 49, turn it right and it'll go anywhere expect preset 01. Its very random, even if you turn it left it'll go up the presets instead of down and likewise if you turn it right it goes down instead of up sometimes it does what you want but VERY rarely...??? Cheers, JV

I bought my G-DEC about 4 years ago so I'm guessing it's a "15'. I've had the same problems with my tuner knob. It's non-responsive and intermittant. It disgusts me.

It's got a 5-year warranty. Why don't you let Fender fix it before it's to late.

Fender replaced mine because of a faulty data wheel. I upgraded to a 30.
Take it back while it's still under warranty. There is no fix for it.

I had a similar problem with my B-DEC. I contacted customer service and they swapped it out for a brand new unit, new questions asked! 2 years later, still rolling!

Any idea what one can do when he buys a used G-DEC and the wheel is wonky? Fender won't take it back.

The Warranty is transferable. Contact Jeff Krause at Fender consumer relations he may be able to help you :D

Fender took care of my G-DEC-30 (used).
+1 for Fender Support

I don't know of anyone that actually had a repair done on any of the G-Dec series failures... they usually just replaced the amp.

Good Luck.... and Play on!

So what happens now that the current G Dec series is being phased out? I can't imagine they are going to replace them with the updated versions that are due out this spring. Maybe I should get mine to the repair shop before it's too late.

It has a 5 year warranty. I wouldn't worry about it.

*** Gee whiz, people.... read the posts! ***
YES, Somebody knows how to fix this!
Take it to a Fender authorized repair center.
It had a 5 year transferable warranty. Even if you don't have the original reciept, they have recognized this as a problem and will most likely take care of it for you. Unless the repair tech is a jerk, he'll probably work with you to get Fender to authorize the repair.

The only time it might be a problem is if it has been opened & tampered with, obviously abused it, or was reported stolen!
If this isn't the case, what do you have to lose?
(Or if you're gonna toss it out, just ship it to me and I'll take it off your hands!)
