Hi All,
First post. Love my B-DEC but I want to load songs into it and need to download the program. The only audio interface I have is a M-AUDIO Mobile PRE USB. It doesn't have midi input/output, only USB. Can I get a cheap MIDI/USB coverter cord and use it? Do I even have to use the M-AUDIO interface if I get that adapter, or can I go direct into the computer? Sorry, I'm a bit slow...

Your Mobile PRE-USB won't work for this. To load songs onto the amp you need a midi output from your computer. Most don't have a straight midi line from a sound card, so easiest/cheapest thing to use is a usb/midi adapter. M-Audio makes one. I've got the roland edirol em-1x and it works well. About $40 and you are in business.

Hi Guitarmart!
Yes, you will need a midi>USB converter cable, and you can just route it directly between your B-DEC and your computer.
As to what kind to get, the choice is up to you. Some helpful info is at the bottom of this page:

FWIW, I'm using an M-Audio UNO with a Mac and haven't had any issues whatsoever, but I don't use Jammer. If you're using a PC, and want to use the Jammer porogram, some of the problems mentioned may apply.
Good luck! :)

Well I went and got the MIDISPORT UNO. And I installed it, and I dowloaded the latest drivers off the web. But everytime I try to install the latest update into my B-DEC it does not recognize the MIDI. I have messed with it for 3 hours now. It recognizes the USB just fine. I have reinstalled and rebooted, and replugged in everything at least 3 times. It just won't recognize the midi. The FEnder upgrade just keeps saying that it doesn't receive any signal and to try again. I have a Sony VAIO with Windows XP SER. PK 3. Man this stuff never works for me...Any Ideas?

Marty, if you haven't tried this already, uninstall the newer drivers from your system, and install the older ones. See if that works.

I got this info from here:
http://mygdec.com/index.php?option=com_joomlaboard&Itemid=27&func=view&id=365&catid=6
If that doesn't work, look around myG-DEC.com to see if there are any other posts/fixes relating to the problem (I'm betting there are).

If all else fails, can you return the UNO? I've read that an E-MU USB midi interface works in many cases.
Maybe someone with a PC will chime in with some helpful info as well.
Good luck!

The other common problem is connecting the midi cables to the correct MIDI port on the Gdec. Per the manual, midi out on the gdec goes to midi in on your interface. Midi in on the gdec goes to midi out on your interface.

I did this the wrong way on my first go.
