I recently upgraded from the G-DEC to the G-DEC30. I'm ready and excited about entering the world of midi. I have a Mac Mini and wonder if anyone has any information and experience with using a Mac for midi imports and exports? What interface has been successful with the Mac? What programs (Jammer is a windows program right?) are being used to download midi tracks to the Mac? I have been reading this forum for months and am impressed with the extent of knowledge shared here.

I use the Edirol UM-1ex with my Mac and PC to interface with my B-DEC. It works with no problems.

I had the M1 Uno. It worked fine from my Windows PC but it had problems from my Mac. I suspect a driver problem.

The Fender downloads page at http://www.fender.com/support/downloads.php notes which interfaces work with the B-DEC (probably the same for the G-DEC 30).

By the way, here is another note for Mac users. I also used two Edirol UM-1ex's to interface two Macs via MIDI (I connected the two interfaces to each other). With this, I was able to synchronize two copies of Logic with each other. It's pretty darn cool but my point is that the UM-1ex is a very capable interface that will probably be able to do all you need it do.

I use the M-Audio UNO.
It's worked fine with 3 different Macs, A G-DEC, G-DEC 30 and B-DEC.
I also used it with a midi keyboard without a hitch.
As far as midi programs go, I just download them from the intarweb, provided I can find something decent sounding.
I usually edit them, adding a count-in, turning off the bass track or guitar track, depending on whether they're destined for the G-DEC or B-DEC, with a shareware midi sequencer called Easy Beat. There's lots of sequencers out there, but I'm most familiar with this one, so that's all I use.
Save 'em as regular midi files, and then use the Fender midi file converter to make them compatible with a DEC.
That's about it.
