Best to match the tempo with the backtrack pre-set
(though the amp has one MAJOR flaw, with no BLUES setting  in the backtracks)

The amp setting are gonna vary alot.....the british settings may work for earlier stuff, hot rod for later

There are many requests similar to yours. The only difference is the name of the artist: "How do I get ..... 's sound?"

When I first started playing, I had a cheep copy of a Strat and a very beat up Tremolux amp. I sounded terrible. I had a friend that played in a local band. I asked him to come over and tell me what was wrong. He started playing my equipment. With a few turns of the knobs all this beautiful music came out. After about an hour, he looked at me and said, "Ain't noting wrong with your gear. If you ever want to sell the amp let me know."

Looking back, that was the most important lesson I ever had. The music is in the equipment, you need to learn to use the equipment to get the music out.

I'm a Strat guy, but the Tele is a great instrument and you have a very good one. The Gdec Jr is a great practice amp. All the sounds you need are in there.

Please sit down with your equipment and play. Start with a clean amp setting and your Tele knobs set full on. See what the pickup selector does. See what the tone knob does. Then go to a HotRod setting that's a little bluesy and do the same thing. Then see what happens as you turn down the volume. Then go to a more driven setting.......

Your Tele only has 3 controls, but can make thousands of sounds.

Your fingering, chord voicing and picking technique all play in the creation of the sound. If you are after the stones sound, you may not find it without learning open G tuning.

You have great equipment. Learn your guitar. Use the spread sheet on mygdec.com to help you explore the sounds your amp can make.

Learn your craft and your equipment. Then you can make any sound you want. Sounds are not as equipment specific as people think.

I'm sorry, there are so many people looking for the set this and have that bands sound; like keyboard patches. The GDec and Cyber amps don't do this. They let the guitar sound and playing style come through. That is what gives is a more live sound, but also contributes to the frustration trying to find a specific sound.

I've done some of the Stones stuff. They play on open tuning. A lot of their material won't sound right unless you follow their playing style.

The Stones play through VOX amps, so British 1 is a good place to start. Adjust the gain to get the amount of graveliness that matches, then work on the tone.

If you have a base Gdec, you may be over-driving the preamp. If you can't get the distortion sound to back off, go to a clean sound like Blackface 1 and play. If it isn't perfectly clean, you are feeding too much signal. I used a Danelectro EQ to control my input level. Once clean become clean, all the other setting will work for you.
