I have just started getting feedback on my g-dec., the only thing different is that i plugged in an electric/acoustic.

i reset to factory settings but that did not help
i attempted to download the software but that gives a "write error: at the end of the first download.

Any thoughts???

Welcome to the Forum.

All A/E guitars I have owned have howled if the volume on them is to high when plugged into an amp.

Turn your amp volume off. Turn on the amp with no guitar or chord plugged in. Turn the amp volume up to about 5 or when it begins to feed back. If the amp doesn't feed back by the time you get to 5, the amp is not the issue, skip to the third paragraph. If it does feedback, continue to the next paragraph.

With the volume off, use the amp button and change amp type selections. Increase the volume again. If the feedback went away, the problem was too much gain/compression in your preset. If this makes no difference, then the amp has a problem. See your local Fender rep.

If you had no feedback in the first paragraph: with the volume off, plug in your chord. Turn the volume up. If you get feedback, the chord is bad. If you don't, there is an issue with the guitar.

Try new batteries first.
