Post subject: connecting CD player to Amp?

Ok- here goes- how do I connect my portable CD player ( walkman -yes I'm old school) to my GDEC-30- ??I must need some special cord configuration- I bought one at Radio Shack to go from the CD to the amp- you can barely here a static/music- what do I need and how is conected to work with having the music play in the background for me to play along??

Hi swillostrat,

Use the aux in left and right RCA plugs... You can find RCA adapters for most plug types most anywhere..

Get the patch chord as described above: 1/8 inch stereo on one end and RCA on the other.

The RCA plugs go to the RCA jacks on the back of the amp. The stereo plug can go to two places. If your CD player has a "line out" use that. The other choice is to plug into the head phones jack.

Now go to the amp and make sure the volume is all the way up by pressing the AUX button and making sure the volume is full up. The rest of the AUX menu is other cool stuff for the auxiliary inputs.

Now you can control the CD volume with the volume control on the CD player.
