I tried to plug my Ipod into the GDec (out from the headphone jack of the Ipod into the Audio Jack in the back) and I'm not getting any sound. Is there some other way to play the Ipod through the Gdec? I've also heard that you can record phrases from an Ipod then slow them down, etc., but, again, I can't get to step one.

Any ideas or suggestions? I picked up the G-Dec used, so I don't have ll the manuals.

Manuals are available right here on Fenders site.

Try typing G-Dec into a browser window and look at some of the links. You'll find a lot of information.

That should work, unless there is some internal volume setting turned off. The best G-DEC info site and forum is mygdec.com.

press the "aux" button until you get to the "phrase source" and make sure it is set to "ALL". You will then be able to record it into the phrase sampler.

At 'mygdec.com' go to the file repository. Under Gdec there is a pdf file called "Gdec Deep" it should answer most of your questions. It is mostly geared to the basic Gdec, but does contain some of the Gdec 30 differences.

Workerbee -
Your "Cyber-Deluxe Tips Guide" is great! I have a question that I hope you can help me with. I find both the Fender Cyber pedal and the FCB1010 to be a bit large. I would like to use a MidiMouse along with an expression pedal. I wrote to Fender, but they did not answer my questions about my Roland expression pedal that does not seem to work with the Cyber amps. Your paper mentions the Ernie Ball Passive VOlume pedal. Can you tell me - Will the EB pedal work as a volume or Wah depending upon how I program the patch? THANK YOU!

I actually have a Morley passive volume pedal, but it works the same as the EB. I think the directions are in the tips guide, but....

Put a 1/4 jack into one side of the pedal. Then run a cord from the other side to the expression pedal in. The first time you use the pedal, you must do a full sweep from up to down for the amp to calibrate it's responce to the pedal. Then it will work.

Be advised, volume pedals are "audio taper" or "Log taper" devices. This means the first 2/3s of the pedal sweep is about the first 1/3 of the control. And, the last 1/3 of the sweep is 2/3s of the control. For controlling volume or gain, it will sound normal. Using it as a Wah will take some getting used to.

I eventually learned to use the instrument volume and pick intensity when playing live.
