As i look back over previous post, I love the fact that the B-DEC is so versatile. I hope my G-DEC brethren are having alot of fum as well. I have just a couple of thoughts, so I hope you bear with me.

One of the features of the B-DEC that was underutilized by me is it Rhythm Trainer feature. As a bass player, if you can't keep time, you can't stay in a band. That being true, it is not always easy to lock rhythm in music genres that you don't normally play. The B-DEC has several loops that do a great job as a metronome like practice tool, so you can get the feel for different rhythm styles, without inadvertently linking it to a particular melody. I now make it a habit to included rhythm drills in my practice regimen.

One feature that has unfortunately become a drawback (for me) is that I can't stand the on board midi instruments! I have been using CD loops and whenever I try to play over the teacher loops, they sound unrealistic. I haven't really applied alot of energy to solve this problem. eventually I will figure a way to make the B-DEC trigger midi instruments on my laptop, so i can use the practice loops without cringing. In the meantime, I'm hunting for decent midi files for Motown songs. Any suggestions?

Straycat, thanks for the info. Unfortunately, because I listen to Motown ALOT, those Midi's didn't stand a chance of passing muster. What i will probably end up doing is getting the VST plugin for Songjammer and use it with Ableton Live.

I have just found this thread (if that is the correct phrase), whilst searching for an insight as to why the B-DEC is difficult to get hold of now.The G-DEC is here in NZ, but not the B-DEC. I imported one last year and have only recently started to make use of its standard features. I would love to understand more about this MIDI phenomenon, how to access them and use them through my B-DEC. You seem to be the man to point this aging hippie in the right direction! Any suggestions re websites will be appreciated. Now, I am off to that Bass Camera site to check it out.....
