Hello!

I'm a little late to this party but have just discovered the G-DEC amps.

I'm looking at two: a first-generation G-DEC 30 and a G-DEC3 thirty, and I have a question. I've looked at the manuals for both, and it appears on the early one, the volume of the accompaniment and drums can be adjusted separately... so if you only want a drumbeat you can get that. But it seems you can't do that with the G-DEC3?

While I love the 3's features, I don't think I want one if you can play along with "drums only".

Hi elaw,

Both The G-DEC 30 and G-DEC 3-30 have the same control knobs; (Volume - Guitar Tone - Backing LVL) and (Guitar Tone - Band Level - Volume), they are in a different order. All three knobs are on the right side of the G-DEC 30 and the Guitar Tone knob is on the left side of the G-DEC 3 30.

I think the G-DEC 3 30 is a more versatile amp because it has the SD card slot which allows endless use of backing tracks.

I have the 3-30 and enjoy it very much.

Just my .02 cents.

Jerry

Jerry,

Thanks!

What I was actually referring to is something buried in the menus on the original G-DEC. Under "drums mode", there are separate adjustments for "drums level", "bass level", and "accompaniment level". Looking through the G-DEC3 manuals, I can't find those adjustments.

But I think I've figured out a workaround... while the G-DEC3 doesn't seem very MIDI-oriented, it does still play MIDI files (at least the manual claims it does). So I've gone ahead and bought a used G-DEC3 thirty and what I'm hoping I can do is take the MIDI files from the original G-DEC, edit them to remove the tracks other than the drums, then load them into the amp and use them for drum tracks.
