I just realized that my Hal Leonard G-DEC Guitar Play-Along ZZ Top SD Card has the .wav backing track files in the "Audio" folder but the .fuse tone presets are missing from the "Presets" folder. I've read in several other posts that this seemed to be common issue with these SD cards. Anyway, does anyone have these files? I only need the .fuse files from the "Presets" folder on the SD card, not the backing tracks. I have the other 11 G-DEC Hal Leonard SD cards if anyone needs some missing files or whatever. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My direct email is southernrocker67@gmail.com.

I found my book and SD card and it is as I purchased it: non-recognizable by my PC and the amp.

Sorry I couldn't help you.

Thanks Fused_Wrist for trying. Another forum member emailed me and is having the same problem with the SD card. The SD cards are formatted using FAT32 instead of the usual NTFS. One of my computers will read them, and the other won't. I have also been reading other posts that indicate a lot of these were shipped defective. If I get the .fuse files, I will definitely share them with you and anyone else who needs them. Thank you again for responding.

I appreciate that, southern. BTW, while I was exploring the forum this afternoon I ran across a subscriber who claimed they had all the HL/G Dec audio, presets & so forth that he kept handy. If you find that post maybe he can supply you with what we both need.

Thanks fused. I'll try to find that post. If you find it again, please let me know. This is getting ridiculous. I just purchased this amp and software 4 years ago. I think it's a shame that Hal Leonard and Fender have left those of us who invested our hard earned money in these G-DEC 3 systems to "fend for ourselves". If anyone out there has a working ZZ Top SD card, please contact me.

My gut thought on that is that when Fender developed both version 1 & 2 they expected to sell "X" number of amps and it just didn't pan out. When the decision to kill production was made at FMIC, ya gotta wonder why HL or anyone else would continue to support an obsolete amp.

I like these so much that I have 4 or 5 of them. Fortunately I have not experiences any of the problems you see on the board other than one of them works only thru headphones.

Typical of our throw away society. Hal Leonard probably spent a lot of money developing and printing these specific G-DEC books. I'm sure they weren't expecting Fender to pull the plug on the G-DEC 3's after only a couple years. I don't get it Fender. These are really good little amps. Miles ahead of the Spider Jam 75 in EVERY way (except volume), and Line 6 is still selling them at $400 a pop. Hey Fender, how about a Mustang Jam 75! Anyway, thanks to the kindness of a another forum member. I now have all 12 complete SD cards if anyone needs files to repair a corrupt card let me know. Thanks to all of you that have responded. What a great community!

While searching for that SD card I ran across the CD "play-along" version. I knew I had something on CD for ZZ Top & sure enough, I at least have the audio. Both play-along and the version with the guitars removed. What I don't have would be the presets and amp selections & effects.

Any help there would be greatly appreciated.

Wrist, the .mp3 backing tracks on those HL Play-Along CDs will work just fine. I'm pretty sure they are the same backing tracks used on the SD cards, only in .wav format. You just get a 2 to 8 GB SD card. Format it to "FAT32" (you can do this with the G-DEC 3 or most PCs) and create the following 4 folders on it.

Audio
Midi
Phrase
Presets

Put your .mp3 or .wav backing tracks in "Audio" folder and the .fuse preset files in "Presets" folder and you are good to go! You can easily make your own custom SD cards using your own backing tracks (.mp3 or .wav) and preset files (.fuse) from https://fuse.fender.com/gdec3/presets/. There are some really good presets there. If you need the .fuse preset files from the Hal Leonard SD cards, email me at southernrocker67@gmail.com.

For what it's worth, you can purchase some of these books on Amazon from as little as $30 for Tom Petty to Guitar Method for just $9,999.00 SRV is only $483.78. Talk about a bargain!

Yeah Wrist, I saw the $9999.00 Stevie Ray Vaughan G-DEC book listing. What a freakin' joke! To those who don't know, the only difference between the Hal Leonard G-DEC books with the SD card and the regular Guitar Play-Along books with the backing tracks CD is that you get G-DEC tone presets (.fuse files) customized for each backing track on the SD card. The backing tracks are exactly the same. You can pick up the regular GPA w/CD books for around $10 used on Amazon. Then, all you need is a cheap 2-8GB SD card ($2) and follow the instructions in my previous post. Only $12-15 total investment for each book with SD card! Plus, you'll also have the CD with the backing tracks on it. Beats the hell out of paying some scalper on Amazon $200 - $9999 per book! I have the custom .fuse preset files from all of the original SD cards if anyone needs them to create their own. They only made 12 of them listed below:

Fender G-Dec Doors Play-Along
Fender G-Dec Jimi Hendrix Smash Hits Play-Along
Fender G-Dec Tom Petty Play-Along
Fender G-Dec AC/DC Play-Along
Fender G-Dec Acoustic Play-Along
Fender G-Dec Nirvana Play-Along
Fender G-Dec Hard Rock Play-Along
Fender G-Dec ZZ Top Play-Along
Fender G-Dec Stevie Ray Vaughan Play-Along
Fender G-Dec Eric Clapton Vaughan Play-Along
Fender G-Dec County Play-Along
Fender G-Dec Guitar Method 1 Play-Along

Special thanks to Jerry Mallard, the coolest cat on the Fender Forum, for all his help!

Just got my used GDec 3 Thirty off eBay yesterday. Nice little amp.

Also found the following on eBay and will receive sometime this week.

Hal Leonard Fender G-Dec Nirvana Play-Along
Hal Leonard Fender G-Dec Jimi Hendrix Smash Hits Play-Along
Hal Leonard Fender G-Dec AC DC Play-Along

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on more of these. One "play-along" I would not mind trying to create myself is some god ole Molly Hatchet. There is a customizable backing track of Dreams I'll Never See for purchase. Find a good preset and I could be in business.

Quick question. I'd have to do all this via PC and not an iMac since its FAT32...true?

I am hoping someone may be able to help. I am looking for the presets for the Fender G-Dec Acoustic Play-Along.
I have the presets for the other 11 books if anyone needs them. Special thanks to Southern Rocker for that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Format your cards in ExFAT. Can use larger cards and I believe it is a better file system.
