After taking my GDEC3 Thirty to a Fender approved repair facility, which I purchased in March of 2011, I was told it is not under warranty and these units cannot be repaired, and since they are no longer available, Fender won't replace it either.

I bought this amp with the understanding that it had a 5 year warranty. Since Fender decided to discontinue the series a year or so ago, and won't repair them due to cost of parts, I feel they should replace it with a Mustang I or something they feel would be fair.

My amp worked fine as of last August (2015) and it was stored in my spare bedroom for six months. When I tried to use it in February this year, it barely made a sound other than crackles and smelled of burnt electronics. Nothing was done by me to cause this.

In summary, I will no longer be buying Fender products, since this is how they back their products.

If a Fender rep wants to contact me to make things right, I'll check back at this forum.
But I won't check past a month!

Bob- Unfortunately amp manufacturers are like car makers I guess; 5 years and a day and your on your own! Your GDEC might cost more to have it even looked at than it is worth, but try on e thing before you chuck it. Get some contact cleaner, remove the electronics chassis, remove he nobs then clean the pots and switches. Pack some towels in the back to pick-up excess cleaner. I was able to bring my daughters near dead FM65R back to life this way. Dust alone can really do a number when stored. Good luck!
