Our band uses the P500 Pro;
I tried the 1/8 stereo out to 1/4 into a Kustom 100 watt powered 12" monitor,
We unplugged the mains to hear just what was coming out of the monitor.
Went through #1 channel. Had to crank up the monitor ALL the way
Got EXTREME reverb unless we turned it completely off.
Did I use the wrong 1/8" to 1/4" adapter cable? stereo/mono? does it make a difference. Help!

I've used 3 different monitors on my 500 Pro, a Mackie , a Peavy and a Altec Lansing , all powered and I plugged it in the 1/8 jack at the very bottom of the panel on the left with the volume control beside it and worked real good .By mistake once I had the big knob master volume right off and didn't know it and just had the monitor volume up and all was good but just the monitor was working so know I really make sure the main volume is up cause with the main speakers out in front and the monitor on the floor facing you, you won't know .I won't get caught with that happening again.

Thanks for your experience; This still doesn't address why the mons were so overblown by the reverb...=(

Your problem is probably related to the issue of stereo vs mono. The Stereo out is, well, STEREO. Like the label says.

The input for your monitor is probably "Balanced Mono". The wires are used differently for these two systems. If you don't do anything to make the stereo mono before getting it to your monitor, then that perhaps explains your problem.

Thanks for that explanation ContraCaller and Fender.
I got a MONO 1/4" to MONO 1/8" adapter plug and we now have monitors that work!
