Is there any harm in connecting 4 P250 speakers into a passport P250? If using heavy gauge cables and the 4 speakers are the original 2 and 2 from a blown P250 ?

I assume since Fender put 2 plugs on each side to allow for 2 speakers on each that there should be no problem . Using good heavy gauge speaker cables .

Thanks everyone

Wire gauge is not the problem . Total impedance must not be lower than 4 ohms .

If the speakers are 8 Ohm speakers (my guess), then having them connected in parallel would bring it down to 4 Ohms. I just looked up the Passport 250P's Owner's Manual on this Web site. It says:

Amplifier Outputs
The Passport’s two internal power amplifiers
are each designed to drive one or two Passport speaker systems. Power into 8Ω and 4Ω is 125 Watts continuous average power, per channel.
A fast acting protection system is incorporated into the Passport System which senses abnormal and potentially damaging conditions and shuts down both amplifiers. The Protect LED will illuminate when protection is triggered.
Should longer speaker cables be required make sure to use cables with sufficient conductor size. Use good quality cables, your performance depends on it!

Since it says it works with 8 Ohms and 4 Ohms, one assumes these are 8 Ohm speakers and the ports are wired parallel (which splits the resistance, bringing 8 Ohms down to 4 Ohms. Additionally, even if we misunderstand the somewhat limited documentation, the unit is designed to protect itself from poorly done speakers by shutting off, so as disappointing as having the amp go dark and quiet on you might be, at least it shouldn't damage the system.

Fatter cables apparently help with distance, but it shouldn't make a difference in terms of number of speakers.

I hope this helps.

I guess that means I shouldn't have any problems with 4 speakers .

As I stated in my original posting I am using the two original speakers from the Passport P250 and another pair of speakers from another Passport P250.

Thanks for your responses.

You can't read any ohms on the speaker ?

1. The manual doesn't state the Ohms of the speaker.

2. The manual says it works with 8 Ohms or 4 Ohms.

3. The unit comes with two 1/4" plugs per stereo channel (4 plugs in all). So, you can plug in four speakers with no adapters.

4. If the speakers are 8 Ohm speakers, and the pairs of plugs are wired in parallel, all of which would make sense, then using two speakers would be 8 Ohms, and using four speakers would be 4 Ohms, which is all within the specs suggested in the manual.

5. The amps have protection circuitry to turn off the amp before it is damaged because of driving the amp through speakers of less than 4 Ohms resistance.

So, let's assume the speakers are 8 Ohms and that using four of them is okay. We don't have a definite answer to your question. We can only guess at what makes sense, and the protection circuit could cover us in any case.

I doubt you will get a better answer than this. Asking the question in a new way will likely not give you any more information than you already have.

I have a Passport 300 Pro and a Passport 500 Pro. There are no markings or writing on the speakers. I doubt there are any on the P250.

These are not generic speakers with markings on them to help you connect them to generic power amps. These are built to go with the P250. It all comes bundled together as one unit.

One can argue that perhaps it should be better documented, but it isn't. So, looking for writing on the speaker to tell you how many Ohms the speaker is will not be successful.

It's best not to forget the manual. It's the most information about the system you will find anywhere, and they have it at this Web site. Click "Support" in the upper right corner of this page, then scroll down to the "Support Quick Links" and look for a red, round logo with a label next to it saying, "Product Manuals". Clicking on the round logo doesn't do anything. You have to click on the underlined text, "Product Manuals".

Scroll down to "Passport P250". The list is in alphabetical order.

That will take you here:

You can either print it or just keep it on your computer. It's exactly like the paper manual that came with the unit when it was new.

I wish to have this answer before from stant52 Thank's for your answer

I write this because we look at manual and see speaker's ohms are not there
