Looking good! Hope they are sounding better too. I'll bet they do. Class D power.

And very importantly a mono 1/4" output jack that will allow you to plug into another Passport to use for monitors. So simple. Yea! :)

Looks like they kept all the good stuff from the Passport 150, 300Pro and 500Pro and incrementally sweetened them with a little more wattage, the option of 1/8" stereo or 1/4" mono line level output. They may have heightened the contrast on the panel a bit to help see what you are doing in typical low lighting.

There's nothing that will make me sell my old ones to buy a new one, but if I were in the market for another Passport, I would not be unhappy with the new offerings.

I am a little disappointed that they've started numbering their channels like everybody else. I understand why they've done it, but the Venue is an 8-channel board, with two of those channels giving the option of stereo, and now, they are calling it a 10 channel board by counting each of the two stereo channels on each of the two input channels that can be stereo.

Everyone else is doing it. But it was classier to be the only honest mixer out there when it came to counting channels. Still I understand how some people would buy a given mixer that says it has 12 channels instead of a Fender that says it has 10 channels, even though they both have identical number and types of channels, so Fender has to start counting it as 12 channels, too.

I wish the trend was in the other direction, however, and others had become as classy as Fender in stating their specs.

The Passports fill that All-In-One market niche better than any other company's offerings, so Fender is definitely doing it up right.

Agreed. The Passport is such a great package.

While it's clipped securely together, it is small and easy to carry with a comfortable handle, right at the weight limit that one person can easily carry. It is protected by a tough shell, and it is sleek and smooth so it fits well when slipping it into a car for transport. You never lift the whole unit higher than your waist.

Once at the venue, you set it on the floor, pop the two clips and lift off the speakers. At 15 pounds each, they are remarkably easy to put up on speaker stands. The powered mixer with storage space for cables is similarly light and sits well on a small folding table or on the edge of a stage.

While I'd expect something that portable and rugged to have compromised sound, but that's just not the case with the Passport. It sounds great. What's not to like?

Because of the unusual nature of what I use mine for, it would have been nice to have a separate monitor mix because dances have callers and bands, and the band doesn't want to hear the caller in the monitors, so I've had to adapt with an external line-level mixer, but even with that, a pair of active speakers of similar quality and power would cost me more, and the ports and controls would be less protected during transport. I'd need AC power delivered to each speaker, and each speaker would have a volume knob on the speaker, making setup more complex, and unless I come up with serious money, decent sound quality would weigh a lot more than 15 pounds.

So, even as I've outgrown the mixer on the Passport, I still can't replace it for amplifying and distributing sound. It's a great unit.

Personnally, I think it's a very nice design... Portability and speed of setup are key factors. Sound quality is excellent... The only things I would have been willing to pay a little more for, would be:

1- Slap back echo along with reverb instead of 2 types of reverbs... 8)
2- Guitar processing that can be applied to channels (Amp sims and basic guitar processing)

I could then simply bring my Strat without the pedal board and everything would be perfect.

Otherewise, it's a nice unit. I love it... Great price/Quality ratio... :D

Thanks to the folks at Fender...
