A while back I was using the 500 Pro at a live event, and I plugged a Zoom H2 digital recorder into the Stereo Out. When I did so, sound stopped coming from the PA's speakers. When I unplugged the H2, the speakers once more functioned properly.

What caused this? I'm stumped.

Thanks.

That's definitely not supposed to happen. I use the Stereo Out quite frequently; I have been doing this for years, and it has never killed the house speakers.

If this is repeatable, I'd take it in for repairs.

If the unit has been repaired by someone unfamiliar with the unit, they may have replaced the Stereo Out port or rewired it to interrupt output, like a home stereo. Certainly, there are headphone jacks that are wired to behave in this way, but a Passport 500Pro is not supposed to be wired that way.
