What I've noticed more then once is some one playing with a system and they bring in only one speaker and not 2 .Twice I've seen it with the Bose system, the one with the speaker looking like towers can't remember the model .Why they do it I don't know but I know I ain't doing it and always gonna hookup both speakers. From a tech point of view is this a smart thing to do ? Cause I don't think it is .I bought a Mackie 150 monitor and really like it and find I don't push my voice now.

Bose makes a system that only has a base (with a subwoofer in it) and a single tower (with speakers aimed at every possible angle, as Bose so loves to do). It doesn't even have a second speaker tower. It's supposed to be used like that.

Meanwhile, as you know, your Fender Passport is supposed to have two speakers hooked up. Inside the Passport, you have two power amplifiers. One goes to each speaker. So, if you only use one speaker, you get half as much sound. Also, you don't distribute your sound (especially the treble) very well around the room with only one speaker with your Passport.

The Bose system is interesting, and I have not used one. I've heard as many people complain about the sound from them as I have people who liked it. I haven't really heard many people complain about the sound of my Passport, though one musician really wanted to, since he spent more on his one powered monitor than I spent on my entire PA system.

Yep,that's the one, we used it up at Fort Mac in the oil sands for safety meetings addressing 2 to 3 hundred people .It came with 2 towers and the bass woofer and they to never bothered to hook up the second tower.I like you just don't think it's good for the guts of a system.
